While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

Hey Ausbird, thanks for your efforts in orgainising our run, and all the others who were involved, we had a fantastic weekend! Lets all put together some ideas for how we can make next year even better while the energy is there! Maybe a group bbq on the Friday when we arrive, or I can chat to one of the locals about a mini motorkhana after the show n shine. We would need to use someones smooth paddock, and it would involve a bit of planning, but it would be big fun!!What does everyone think?
If we were to pre-book a heap of rooms we could stay together in the one venue, and maybe save some cash too!...Im happy to do some organising to help out, Shaz

Hey Ausbird, thanks for the inform in me about the Show'n'Shine me and my family looking forward to next year i'll be looking to get the car worked,i will inform everyone what get's done on it. I like to thank everyone for the support, the people in the Bseries Club are very nice to talk with give some other thought's.
I think we as the Bseries Group should have our Ford Flags to show the othere's that were upagainst them and get more ppl to join with us soy for next year, the bseries should look bigger im goin to get hold of my friends to join, and get them to tell friends to join in the Bseries Club.
Hope see every one again next year bigger and bettersoy that the Bseries Club can win over the holden's to me they did'n have much to show but, they only had old skool car's.We had the moden cars that you see on the road every day.Ford's Bseries all the way and win next year nad hope COBRA XR8 Win in the mods and every one else.

Not long been home, cars unpacked...just catching our breathe.

WOW!!!!! What a weekend : B-Series in Parkes 2009 sure was a memorable event!

I believe we heard a collective sigh of relief from the 12,000 locals as we drove out this morning :

Will catch up and post pics later on.

Ron will PM you the URL for the B-Series Banger.

Here's a few that Danny took, my camera is having some probs, otherwise I would have more of the group. I will be writing to Parkes show comittee regarding using the oval for some organised driving activities, so will keep you all up to date! Shaz

Pencil it in your diaries guys and gals.....B-Series has been asked back to Parkes next year.:

At this stage it's looking like it will be once again held the weekend after Bathurst....so around the 3rd week of October.

Plenty of time to start stashing away a few dollars a week. Guaranteed a memorable weekend

Great idea Shaz but not doable....that oval, to Parkes, is like a shrine. Parkes is very football orientated. There was a football final on after the show in fact

Best leave it up to CWCC to organise, it's their do and B-Series has their own organised driving activities....albeit a bit dusty . Shame you guys weren't around on Sunday afternoon.

ok, no worries but they told me there was a smash up derby there the week before, and to ask the show comittee. I rang em and they said to put in writing what you wanna do. We can organise our own thing elsewhere if people wanna do that. by the way, how the heck do I get pics onhere? trying again.....

Easiest thing is to open a photobucket account, upload to there and then copy and paste the image code to show the pics
