The Force car with red leather has the same seats as the Fairmont Ghia except it has FPV embossed in the head rest.

After this time it’s hard to see many free sales left in the market. By that I mean true Ford specific enthusiasts that have been hanging on or waiting.

Out side the F6 and Force 6 it’s hard to see much crossing shopping traffic coming through dealership floors unless it’s on the sniff of blood from drastically cut prices.

I think the fact that the GT-P has nearly 5k worth of previous options as no cost reflects the position they know they are in. I wish them luck because it’s going to be a long 18 months.

Well that just settled it... they wont sell many, I expected the Force 6 to be cheaper not more expensive than a F6.
Same deal with the GT.

From the Sydney Motor Show.
''FPV
Nothing Holden can offer in the sixcylinder department can hold a candle to Ford's prowess with tweaking big kilowatts from its in-line 4.0-litre six.

Producing an amazing 245kW in standard trim inside Falcon XR6 Turbo, thanks to a turbocharger with intercooler, Ford Performance Vehicles ups that to 270kW in its hi-tech F6 Tornado ute and Typhoon sedan.

That's more power than the straight six-powered BMW M3, and although the Beamer lacks a hairdryer, there is the not-so small matter of the $80,000 extra, above the price of the Typhoon, you must spend to acquire one.

FPV's Force 8 is powered by the quad cam 5.4-litre Boss 290 V8, which manages near-HSV outputs despite having 600cc less engine capacity.

FPV's 'Force' models, like HSV's offerings, are aimed squarely at corporate executives who want an Australian-built alternative to European luxury marques, according to Ford boss Tom Gorman.

Both FPV models are available exclusively with the world-renowned, slick-shifting ZF 6HP26 high-torque six-speed automatic transmission, which manages to snatch sophisticated shifts in the face of awesome grunt from both engines. Both models also boast supreme stopping power thanks to Brembo brakes – four-piston callipers at the front and single-piston callipers at the rear. An even more powerful Brembo brake system with six-piston front callipers and four-piston rears is optional.''

The new range is ok no need to go drastic if a new model is coming out in 1 year.
The force models are slick but could of given it more chrome and different wheels and a name like Ghia6 and ghia8 would of suited the car more if its aimed at corporate executives but ford could be setting the car up for the future the force8 could have a supercharge at orion either way its ok

i think the cars all look hot...the thing im upset about is they just made it a little cheaper with the option wise...apart from stripes you cant tell the difference from bf1 and bf2....i dont mind that they kept the looks the same and i love the force models but i wish they just improved torque at low revs and did something with economy...if this car doesn't do too well expect alot of price cuts or a bf3 before orion

based on Fairmont Ghia instead of the Falcon, I have driven the Force 8 and they feel different from a normal GT, dont know why but they just do, think it could be the Ghia suspension setup

Sure the Force models do look like other FPVs but without the big spoiler, but look at the VT HSVs. The Clubsport, GTS, XU6, XU8, and SV99 looked pretty much the same. The Senator also looked about the same except it had a smaller rear spoiler and there was a little bit of chrome on the front. Did that stop HSV? No. It's a similar situation with the latest FPVs but I wouldn't be too worried about the future of them. Hopefully FPV will set them apart a bit more when Orion comes out, but I reckon the Force models are great. It's for people who want more luxury, and want their FPVs to look more discreet

i believe that there trying to bring back their tickford days, flint always stated when tickford was in that he was trying to aim for the business market, now that FPV is more agressive in its styling , maybe there now is a void for a corporate or a sleeper as you would put it

What does that have to do with my post? Most people who want FPVs would never consider Corollas or Magnas. The fact is, a lot of GT owners aren't a fan of big spoilers - it is a bit too boy racer to their liking, and a lot of owners take them off. FPV have realised this, and have subsequently made another model for these people

I like the Force cars... I'd take one over the GT/F6 if I had the chance most likely. It's more refined looking, with lots of class, yet still has an aggressive look.

I think they did good.

Clearly the heads at FPV dont just make up models and produce them, an immense amount of market research is done before any model even comes close to production, there is clearly a target market for these vehicles and it might not be u and it might not be me but doesnt mean they're not out there! Todays business world means that every product is created to meet the needs of specific segments of people! Especially when FPV itself is specifically targeted, FPV would only produce enough vehicles that they believe will supply demand.

FORCE 6 and FORCE 8 are a complete flop based on price.

The aim of the game would have been for Ford to build a Fairmont Ghia in its BF II trim maybe with the only difference being 18 inch alloys with the 240T / 260 BOSS.

Those Force cars are over 70 k, no ones going to pay that for a GT with extra chrome and a smaller wing.

Force 6/8 is only 10K more than a GT, is based on the ghia not a fairmont. The HSV Senator is more expensive, and that aint a flop. I dont hear any HSV fans wanting to get rid of the Senator, which is the equivalent of the Force 8/6.

i agree with you 100%...

the only thing i'd like to see, and it would have been the perfect time for ford to implement it, is Xenon headlights / LED tail lights on the force models...

Ford are trying to push into the euro/luxury market, but havent equipped the cars with enough euro gadgets

Was there ever a supercharged 5.4 ready to be put into a halo FPV model, or was it just unfounded rumours? By the time FPV bring out a model(probably in 2008) that will be a new range-topper, Bmw M, AMG and Quattro gmbh would have moved on, provided FPV are going to release those sort of power figures(373kw) in another 2 years which is most likely. They seem to be one generation behind the euros, while HSV have managed to match the euros with the GTS, and im sure they will have a GTS-R next year. Anyway ive read rumours of the next FPV models to have the GT power figure target as 320kw, 600nm. And the Typhoon as 300kw, 600nm, read it somewhere else on this world wide web.... When the trademark "Force 8" was registered, i straight away thought the supercharged engine that was long rumoured was coming, finally, how wrong i was.

isnt there a whole new model of falcon due in 07 or 08?
that sort of explains why there havnt been major overhauls of the range.of course a few more things might have been nice but it just might be that the big bucks are going into producing the next all new ford.
there is still no way i would consider buying a holden especially the new hsv range ,they are hideous.

force 6 and 8 look good, i prefer the bobtail to the big boot spoilers, big spoilers remind me of damn wrx's.
i would kind of like the twin headlights back but and for the fords to go on a diet, new cars are way too heavy.
