Default New Fastest Boss Record 135MPH (Updated ET:10.90)

HPF and Captain Marv’s Twin Turbo BA GT ripped out a PB of 11.05@135mph at Heathcote on Sunday.
30 degree heat, raced in street trim.
Fantastic effort in a full weight car, well done guys @ HPF and Captain Marv that Boss must be pulling some big horses.

This now ends Rods TT Boss 131 MPH record .

The key here will be the weather 30 deg heat @ Heathcotes humidity for a turbo car is hard work.
Need a cooler Calder evening. :eclipsee_

Hi Rob, have you raced there since resurfacing of the start-line?
As long as your not using true street tyres Calder's new start line has been given the thumbs UP.. Comp car driver Gerdes Blown HT was running et 7.50 there 3 weeks back all rapt with the start-line would have loved to see the resurfacing go further down the track.

Video here fullbost, 2nd selection down.

I don't think Rob has Mark but we have in Wade's ute with our usual race trim set-up and i have to say i'm not impressed yet. Comp cars are a little different, they have a nice big tyre where we only have a little 8.5 inch tyre and lots of weight to haul.

The guys in sydney, queensland and WA get to race on some killer tracks that we vic's havent enjoyed for a number of years. The sooner we get a killer track here the better.

Congratulations Guy's, great turbo kit, great driving, great tuning, great car setup, and a top bunch of blokes to boot.

Awesome to see a Boss with so much grunt. Simply awesome.

Im pretty sure its a "built" engine.....................

Even if it had no seats, the time stands, its a killer time, and by the MPH the car will see mid tens easy.

Marv, Geea and Rob top bunch of guys, and bigtime fun to be around at the track.

Also, certainly very talented in their craft.........

Still a great result either way, was jus cuious.

Did it suffer a failure or was it for reliability.

What does 'street trim' mean exactly, cause the GT that i saw there on sunday had no seats and was pretty much empty inside? Does this clasify as street trim still?
awesome car but, i missed the first few runs but the ones i saw were good he was just stuggling for traction at the start.

"street trim" means exactly that the way you drive it on the street. If seats are removed or anything else for that matter then it's classed as "race trim", having said all that there are no rules so you can do as you please.

great to hear, will be interesting when this thing gets some traction, i assume it was street trim plus drag slicks otherwise these guys are insane.
shame rods record is gone that was one of the longest standing ones

I was stunned also, as are the guys in his workshop.
Ford at the moment have nothing to offer, he don't want another 290 Ute wants something different, a new model.
LTD was $10k more and had a lot less features and the Fairlane looked a XT falcon compared to the Caprice.
The all time record sales Holden are having with the VE statesman means there is a waiting list.
My brother is happy he gets the auto that was built to hold 600plus H/P from the TT setup.
The last time the Pursuit was raced it had 427rwkw stock Boss with oil pump gears, all ways raced full weight and still runs like a dream today.
Keep the boost and revs low and she didn't blow.

I would think Captain Marv's Boss must be pushing around 450 rwkw.

Some Video's sounds like it needs a bigger hi-stall not leaving the line hard enough.
2nd video you can hear the wheel spin, needs light weight slicks and front runners.

I don't think a convertor is going to help, turbo cars in auto form take time to spool up thus giving it very poor performance off the lights just like the above.Great mph though but unfortanately mph doesn't win races.

Stall will allow spool, the issue is you need the load, not free spinning..
