Exclamation Door plastic?

Hey all,

I ask on behalf of my girlfriend.

Not even a week of owning her 06 WQ ZETEC, the exterior door pillar fell off (i think its called a door pillar? Black plastic next to window on the edge of the door?)

Ive seen a fords missing their pillars, whether it was stolen or it fell off, it needs to be fixed.

Any Good wreckers in Sydney or should i buy a new part?

Thank you in advance!

I've seen quite a few like that, including a mate's WQ LX. Ask the Dealer if it's something they can cover under some form of claim or warranty, otherwise I'd purchase a new one from spare parts, there'd be little doubt they'd have revised the aprt by now it was indeed faulty. If you bought it from a Dealership, then they may be able to cover it under used car warranty potentially.

Risk with a wreck part is that if it's a similar age car, you don't know if it will happen again in the future.

Thanks zetec,

She bought it privately so its up to use to source the part.

If its a clip on, i might add some hot glue onto it.

Ford will charge you $130 a new one. You can find them online cheaper, but they may not ship to Oz.
They just clip on, the hardest part was getting the old clip out. I have to glue my drivers side one back on as well.

mine didnt go back on properly after getting my windows tinted...i tried hot gluing the clips back on but they didnt stick too well...
ended up getting some outdoor silicone, smothering the plastic and sticking it back on.
its not coming off any time soon now
