Default Starter Motor from Laser to Telstar?

Just came across this forum, and it looks like a great resource for Ford owners.

A friend is wondering if a starter motor from 1981(?) Laser will suit a 1984 GL 2.0 Telstar? The Telstar has a Bosch starter motor.

By the way, I own a '79 RS2000, which I will hopefully get around to fixing up one day.
