Have used this type of strip lights before for backlighting a vending machine plexi glass, worked quite well

If you stop the vid at the point where he fixes the light strip, its not flat its bunched up where he bends it to suit, the led strip I purchased you could cut it and join it by soldering the contacts that were every 5 or 6 LED's on the strip, so you could run a section then join it with some wires to the next section, which is what I did in the Vendo.
