Oh FFS.

My thoughts are that it will always happen, you either love it or you don't and that there is no need to make constant threads about the stickers, the wheels, the bodykits or the badges.

A lot of cars have come with stickers and stripes in past (here and overseas) so it's not something that's unique to GT's. It's not like having fake Sierra vents on a Charade, or BA bulge bonnets on Commodores.

I (NArelle) think they should be saved purely for the GT's. I admit they dont look bad on some cars, but keep em on the GTs

In my opinion, if its not a GT/GT-P/Pursuit/Super Pursuit.. it shouldn't have stripes or buldge stickers, period.

JUST to clarify to all this poll refers only to the BA GT stripes and bulge stickers on non-GT's

other opinions are welcome but the poll is only for the above
sorry for the confusion

Agreed. In other words, do what you like to your own car. If you like it, great, thats all tha matters. Just be aware some will not like it and may tell you so.

This debate has gotten so old that I'm not even going to vote....totally pointless now.

Look I dont mean to come across as having a whinge (although I guess I am in a way :hihi: ), but seriously, this debate has been done to death a million times. Do a search on 'Stripes' or 'GT' and you'll see what I mean.

At the end of the day I stand by what I said - it WILL always happen, and while it's quite ok to have an opinion on it, we don't need to debate the pros and cons of it on a weekly basis.

Yeah, but it is fun :
Lets see if the same old arguments come up again or if people have just grown tired of it. I'm betting on fireworks at some point again :evil_laug

This reminds me of that video Zetec posted up of the bonfire exploding - people pour more and more and more fuel on the debate until POW!

I think the stripes and stickers should be left for the GTs. There's a red BA XR6 in Tauranga with white GT stripes and it just doesn't look right without the rest of the GT bits (and putting a full GT kit on an XR6 would be ludicrous). There's also a bog stock Phantom XR6 with an XR8 bonnet which annoys me aswell.

Alrighty - my opinion is that they look fine on non GT's etc, although I personally wouldnt put them on, say, an N/A XR6. XR8's etc I think they look fine in some colours.

Well I've had about enough of all these unqualified opinions of who should and who shouldn't have stripes. Just because I dont have a GT doesn't say my stripes aren't cool.

To each his own, and btw leopard print undies were never a good look either. The things people do!!!

Easy vote for me - I don't like the stripes on the GT's so I'm no chance of liking them on anything else!
It's still a matter of personal choice for each individual and if someone wants to put full Martini Racing Stripes on an XT (and is prepared to live with the ridicule) then good luck to them.

I don't like either. IMO its very unoriginal to copy stripes off an FPV.

we are getting stripes and a bulge on the new turbo XR6, reason for my additions
1, we will use the stripe to put our company logo and Ph # so we can advertise without making the car look like a council car
2 the bulge will be used as a fresh air duct fot the engine mods we plan on doing, we will also make a custom set of grills, if u dont like it , go suck eggs or buy a XY without a GT shaker
