Detail, detail... Meat/gravy ratio, how was the pastry, the heat, the seasoning, did it stay together in your hand to eat?

If the rest of us are going to live vicariously through “Days of Our Pies” we need the nitty-gritty to help keep it real.

It actually looks rather tasty but you lose a single point for only eating one. Since you admitted to your crime and seemed to demonstrate a reasonable level remorse I took it easy on you

I have noticed over the years that the more rustic looking the pie is, the better the taste. Is this a rule that could generally be applied to all pies? Opinions please?

On the weekend, I tried the Aldi beef and bacon sausage rolls 4 pack. They are the bake at home version kept in the meat section.

Very nice halftime snack whilst watching the game. Plenty of flavor, sausage not sawdust, thick crusty pastry. They could be cut into smaller sizes prior to baking for a party/cocktail snack size. Don't forget to brush with milk before they go into the oven.

That’s quite handy to know, my father has no interest in eating kosher so I end up serving all sorts of horrors to the table (personally I struggle with putting meat and dairy in the same carry bag from the stupormarket). Sounds like they could be a good bit of variety for him.

What’s the rush? Build a little anticipation, savour it a little more, maybe share with someone.

There’s probably a metaphor in that.

Geeze Gaso, If I can cook outside on a butane camp kitchen in a paddock or motel at night I reckon you could make a bit more of an effort otherwise we will have to ban you from this thread.
Come on mate, we can see what you can build out of Lego (with instructions) or did you nuke that too.

Up until now, observer only of this thread.

However, with the talk of microwaves, what's people's thoughts on the microwavable pies and sausage rolls, ie Mrs Macs?

I know they are not a substitute for an oven cooked pie/roll, but I find them to be pretty decent when time-constrained.
