What is a TE Cortina, I've always known them as MK1, MK2, MK3, MK4, MK5.

These are the MK5 colours

Those in bold were new for 1980 onwards

Cordoba Beige
Corsican Blue

Diamond White
Highland Green
Midnight Blue
Venetian Red
Signal Red '80'
Signal Yellow
Cosmos Blue
Nova Green
Sable Brown
Sirius Red
Solar Gold

Strato Silver

My old Solar Gold MK5

In Australia they were known as Mk1, Mk2, TC, TD, TE and TF. As for the Ford colour listing signal yellow is not listed as a TF colour however Yellow Blaze is code Y. the Aussie Cortinas were unique to Australia , some were sold in New Zealand along with the English type . Magpies photo is of a Mk5 the main stand out difference is the bumpers but there were quite a few differences panels, trim, instruments and running gear to name a few.

In NZ (and everywhere else in the world apart from Australia) the MK3 ran from 1971 to 1977...The Aussie equivalent was the TC (1971 to 1974) and TD facelift (1974 to 1977)

When the Mk4 was introduced in 1977 it was labelled a TE in Australia and when the Mk 5 was introduced in 1980 it was known as a TF in Australia

To answer the orig question, I had a Bronze (choc brown) 1978 2.0GL Mk4 with a beige vinyl roof...My Dad had an Amber coloured 1979 MK4 2.0L with beige vinyl roof
