Default Eeek! Lost a mates key to his Hi-lux, how do we replace it!?

So i borrowed his lux to do a quick run at lunch, and have misplaced it somewhere around my room... or the mess hall, or the 100 meters between my building and the mess :S
Its a 90's model lux, pretty old me thinks, just got a single little key, any ideas on what the go is for getting a new one? Do we have to go through toyota or can it be done by other parties??

Cheers
Willo

Want to save a callout fee? pull the ignition barrell out and take it to a locksmith and they can cut a key from it. Otherwise call out one and they'll do all the work for you.
Also, the manual may have a 'key code' in it and if you take it to Toyota they can cut a key from it. They may be able to cut a key from the VIN too.

Or, if the door lock has the same key, just pull that and go to a locksmith.

Don't know about Toyotas, but i've seen key codes on either the passengers or drivers side lock barrel, i've also seen stickers with the key code on the inner door linings.

In both cases, you take the code to the respective dealer and they can cut a new key.
