Default AU II Tach signal help

can any one tell me where to attach my tach signal sensor wire
i got a DRIFT digital tach its got the + - and signal wire and the AWESOME little cut into the wire joiners but anyway what wire should i attach the signal wire to

there has to be something but there is a tach in the dash and it has to get it some how

i got the new one because when i give it some the dash tach jumps up in like 1500 rpm lots and its REALLY annoying :(

Any Holden drive could tell you exactly what the back of my car looks like yet no idea what the front looks like.

The ECU pinouts are on this site somewhere - just do a search. From memory, it's a pink wire you're looking form or maybe purple?

A cheaper solution to installing a second tacho is fixing your current one - my bet is the cluster has been out at some stage, and the needle has been pushed back on too hard; just get a fork under the needle and lift up slightly, and it should work nice and smooth. If you're not sure how to remove cluster and get the clear plastic cover of, do a search in the AU section on "cluster" (there's plenty of threads covering how to remove etc).

Is yours a 6 or an 8? If the former, I'd be interested to know how you got the 0-100 time in your signature.

Yeah, its a pink wire and referred to as Clean Tacho Output. Its pin 45 on the V8, not sure about the i6.

Looks like that 0-100 time was measured with a G-Tech

Probably the same pinout on the 6 too then, but check the ECU pinout diagram.

Most likely the crank sensor via the computer. The computer would convert the analogue signal to a digital pulse.
