Default RS2000 Fake grill

HI
I have just brought a 2nd nose cone due to damage on my RS2000 project and I have noticed the grill is not cut out from the factory
I after views on this, do I cut it out, will it overheat if I dont etc etc.

I thought the grill was all part of the nose cone. Was on the RS's I owned. I've seen people drill in between the bars and even cut them out to increase cooling. My view is that if it was good enough when they were new, then if it has cooling problems, the issue lies somewhere else.

They are not cut out (from the factory), the air comes under the bumper to cool the radiator.

Its shouldn't over heat (otherwise ford would have recalled the car). If you do have a heating problem look at all the usual suspects - clean radiator, thermotat etc

Yes, its designed so the airflow comes from underneath.
Never had any trouble with an Escort overheating.....A little thing called coolant and regular maintenance will solve any problems with the pintos cooling system.
