Default Help with courier

Hi all,

Sorry to be a hassle, just a quick question, was going to buy some 19 inch wheels for cheap but have never organised a courier before, does anyone know how much it is to freight 4 wheels w/ tyres from NSW (Albion Park) to VIC (Riddells Creek)??
I just don't know how to figure it out (don't know dimensions or weight) so was just wondering who has freighted a similar distance, who is a good courier to use and what it cost??

Feel free to PM if you'd rather, thanks heaps.

Depending on the courier , you'd be looking at approx $80-$100. Id use IPEC or TNT .

Look at google. I have used smart send and even Australia post. with smart send it cost $100 to send 5 17 inch rims and tires from QLD to VIC but it was a couple of years ago and you need to be in a semi metro area. Australia post is more expensive and may not send the larger wheels but I sent a set of 4 15inch rims without tires from QLD to Sydney for $110 at xmas time which was one of the cheaper prices I got

IPEC or TNT wont be interested unless you have an account with them... (unless the policy changed recently) but they dont take walk ins.

Smartsend.com is pretty cheap and so far reliable. Online quotes.

I have worked in the transport industry for 9+ years, private one off jobs with major transport companies are highly inflated compared to B2B rates.

Read terms & conditions carefully and take note of the "We are not a common carrier" - this simply means if freight is damaged or lost you have no leg to stand on and will still have to pay the freight costs so organise your own insurance!

Your best bet will be a depot to depot service, this should reduce the cost.

I have used Aussiewide Transport many times, they offer a compettitive price and fantastic service.

Another one to check out are inxpress. They can be found on www.inxpress.com.au . Their rates are very reasonable I have found and the service is great.
