Default Favour - Inspection of a Car in Adelaide

Hey guys,

I've decided there isn't enough pain, suffering and stress in my life, so I'm getting rid of a perfectly reliable F100 and buying an old Mopar.

I'm currently looking at a car that's at an importer's in Salisbury, South Australia. It looks very clean and original in the pics (guy has sent me 30 or so), but I'd really like someone to go out and make sure that a) there's no rust he's not showing me and b) that the factory big-block doesn't need attention straight away.

Would any forum members in SA be ok to do this for me? You'll be richly rewarded with beer and public thank-yous.

Thanks!!

Nick

Definitely worth putting a refundable deposit down and flying to see it yourself.

What if your version of good is different to someone elses?

If the seller has any heart that should be acceptable.

I reckon ask Phil (montyv8) as he lives in that area and could check it out if you ask nicely and he isn't busy.

Yeap...

Cost of Flights: couple hundred bucks

Cost of finding out the floor pan is like swiss cheese....divorce.

Divorce = ((life time of nuisance) x (cost of new floor pan))^2

...or about that.

Bah, where's your sense of adventure?

I bought my Fairlane By Tickford interstate after a mate smsed me saying "Just drove past an FBT in a car yard. Here's a pic", with a camera phone pic of a blue car taken from 100 metres away.

Many thanks to Bud Bud who checked the car out today and gave me a really detailed assessment of the beast - how is that for helping a bloke out???

Some great people on this forum.

Brilliant offer from Pottery Beige, I'd just be skeptical of him getting me back to the airport if he gets on the juice!

PS Nice avatar GreenMachine, I have that album (along with most of their others) on vinyl - not too many around these days who appreciate the Redgum!

I dunno, man... Everyone apart from me seems to hate it, and I have a long history of making bad, expensive decisions... Still, hot car at the right price in my opinion:
