Good morning all,
Im just curious as to how the factory immobilisers on AU1s function. If I remember correctly it should only prevent ignition, not disable the central locking system. In either case, are these systems capable of being reset to allow the car to start up again? And who would I go to to get it done? Just so everyone knows, im not asking these questions for illegal activities of any kind. |

Yes breaking into an AU is a piece of cake. Starting one and getting away without a key? LOL no.
And I believe a cycle of the door locks from a remote resets the system iirc.

Ah rightio, basically the story behind this is Ive encountered an AU1 which apparently is completely immobilised. The key wont even activate the car on ACC, and it apparently wont unlock the doors. Aside from the obvious possibility its the wrong key and/or flat battery, what else can be the issue here?

I agree even when immobilised the door locks will cycle and the ignition lights come on. to overide the immobilisation on a series one with smartlock ( not smartshield) you leave the ignition on till the locks cycle ( about 1/2 hour) all done. an immobilised smartshield car is harder it has to be pluged into a scantool to unlock it, not just an obd reader but the one mechanics use to do resets, you need to do a parameter reset to unlock the immobilisation
