Default Oil leaking from VCT connector?

As the topic says, I just degreased the engine (got damn they are beautiful when they are degreased), and noticed that once I started the car up, and reconnected the VCT connector, it instantly got coated in oil again.

Is this normal, or should I be worried... because I'm a bit worried at the moment :/

No oil should leak from the VCT solenoid connector, you will have to replace the solenoid. It's not that uncommon for them to leak from there.

What amount of KM's do the VCT solenoids start to leak? And how much do they cost?
cheers
Bill.

Going on the history of my car when I bought it, it's never had the solenoid done. I recall seeing oil in there for the first time at about 120-130k but never really thought much of it.

Mine is leaking now and I've been told its $240-ish to get a new VCT solinoid from Ford. And no-one else makes them, I've tried.

BTW, mines been leaking since about 115'000kms
