I dunno...in all respect. Seems like they have had a pretty good run in the last 4 years. Almost like a growth spurt in terms of influence and political strength.

Would Scomo have openly backed an inquiry into covid origins if Trump was an easy roll over? I think Australia at least has been emboldened to stand up to China by Trump, even if it is just a smallish protest. Is the Victorian belt road still a thing or has that gone???

Not great examples to be honest. Don't worry about BRI. There is now a bigger element called RCEP to worry about. RCEP designed by China to counter TPP which Trump withdrew from. So again....do you think "the commies" are stronger or weaker than when Trump started?

Edit: One could almost argue Scomo and his troops did what they did because they feared Trump, not the other mob. We all know how wonderfully well Trump and Turnbull's phone calls use to go...unless those were lies as well?

Even the Democrats are sounding different about China than they were 4 years ago. They seem to flip on foreign policy very quickly though. In 2012, Obama lectured Romney about how Russia is not a threat. Obama told Medvedev he would have more flexibility to work with Putin after the election, and they were all for pulling troops out of the Middle East. That quickly turned to Russia is the enemy and Trump is bad for pulling the troops out. Not so long ago, Biden touted that China would prefer him to Trump. Well even if they are just playing politics, I think everyone needs to stand up to China.

One of the things Trump has claimed ts that he fixed the trade deficit with China. This is not correct as the trade deficit is currently at a 14 year high.

Just one of the many bullsh*t claims made by Donald Dump. But his blind faithful disciples will swallow anything that he squirts at them.

Two lawyers, both Trump supporters, discussing how badly his legal team are handling the legal cases. Apparently many of the affidavits were proven to be false, no real evidence has been produced and now they are running out of time.

The VIC BRI MOU is posted on the gov website for all to read. Its not a secret. I can't see any "deals" in there apart from an understanding to work together to explore opportunities.

So to keep it on topic somewhat, here, Donald explains it very well...I actually agree with him on this front. But hey, I'm not a commercial lawyer, maybe someone who is can confirm.

Who thinks this is nearly over? I wouldn't bet on it....

Almost no Trump voters consider Biden the legitimate 2020 election winner
https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/23/2020...he-winner.html

"A mere 3% of voters for President Donald Trump think President-elect Joe Biden won the 2020 election, while 73% think the incumbent was the victor, according to a CNBC/Change Research poll."

"A mere 3% of Trump voters believe he should concede to Biden and start the peaceful transfer of power. Another 31% want the president to fight in court until states certify results. Two-thirds, or 66%, think Trump should never concede."

C'mon Trevor tell the truth as it is a state issue but the Feds stuffed up in scrutinising the deal of the lease.
The Labour NT government leased the port to China.

Correct the states and territories have control over the leases of ports. But it was done in 2015 by the then Country Liberal party. I'm not sure I believe the Fed LNP didn't know at the time, but each to their own.

And not once, not even a reply on the donation to AFF for putting up with the tirade of links, fake news and proper lunatic nonsense from them.

If they believed it was a done deal and Trump was in then why did not a single one put any coin down?

Its all talk, shouting, attacks, claims with no substance which perfectly sums up the situation.

Thanks AFF for letting this run, I am happy to donate $50 today to the forums. Not because I can, or because I have a burning desire too, but because actions speak louder than words and video links.

Not unexpected. Almost like a tradition.......

December 20, 2016
Obama granted 78 commutations on this day.

January 17, 2017
On this day, Obama pardoned 64 individuals and commuted the sentence of 209 individuals (109 of whom faced life sentences). These included Chelsea Manning and Oscar López Rivera, enabling them to be released from prison on May 17, 2017.

January 19, 2017
Obama commuted the prison sentences of 330 federal inmates, particularly drug offenders, on Thursday, January 19, 2017, his last full day in office. Obama did so, as one of his final acts in office, in order to reduce what he viewed as overly harsh punishments.
