Default Holden funny bulge

Is it me or the past 3 weeks I have been seeing a plastic looking bulge ontop of the bonnet on holden's? from the latest HSV's to old vp commodores. I am seeing these plastic bulges on like 40% of holdens lately. And i only just started seeing them all at once?

Anything to it? or what gives? makes the overall appearence look somewhat cheap or transformer looking = sadman.

Not sure what you are talking about, but I have seen in the past where some commodores have tried to do an xr8, GT bonnet look a like.

IMO, I do not like it.

Have seen a few VE's with what look to be BA XR8 bonnets on them. Not bolt on, pressed metal. Looks out of place if you ask me, especially with the standard rectangular lights as opposed to the XR lights on the fords.

I tried to google the pics but can't find. Basically the bulge covers almost the entire bonnet, and I wouldn't consider it a bulge at all. Say 90% of the bonnet is covered, painted to match of course.

Walkinshaw started this trend off with the retro blue meanie look to their own vehicles - now starting to filter down to HSV, VE and any other VP, VK owners that take a shine to this kind of look - meh, together with a bow tie on the front the best tribute to a safari suit I've seen - but that's only IMO.

Haha just type in Walkinshaw. That pic is the first of many
But guess without the brand it'd be a bit harder

I don't think they do, but these aren't functional are they? Like they just sit on top of a standard bonnet?

Not sure, thought the bonnet attachment was re-interpreted by Walkinshaw in a recently released limited number of cars - reference point were the VC or VK Brock HDT cars.

The originals are, as far as I know are functional - others I would think would not be functional - just stick ons. Others may have a bit knowledge on the subject though. Cheers

i saw one a few weeks ago, and it really looks like someone's done a really bad panel job - it just doesn't flow with the lines, just looks like it's plonked on top. i actually thought it was a bodgy home done job until someone told me it is actually part of a pricey car.

um.... fail.

I saw a "blue meanie" just yesterday only it was a VE and had a HDT badge on it. The car looked bloody stupid and in my view an insult to the original.

LOL to the led lights, I heard they are going to be put on most new cars as they are legal to use during the day. It makes the car stand out to pedestrians. It is very common in Europe.

I think putting a bugle onto a holden is like changing the badges to Chev

To me the bonnet on the HSV looks like its cheap and plastic.

Looks hideous. Then I guess there's a thousand Holden owners who think the bulge on a Falcon is ugly and non functioning.

The originals were designed so they could fit over the top of the intake manifold these Group A's/Walkinshaws used
