Default Suspected blend door problems

Posting on behalf of fellow member Icar. Problem- no heater in a NU 2000 Fairlane, hot coolant getting to dash but no heater. Anyone had this problem? Blend door motor? Any advice really welcome thanks!

Original post-
"Hi- I hope somebody may be able to help,
Had Battery Terninal cracks- That stopped car starting.

Have had terminals fixed-but now the heater has stopped working, check by mechanic doing service, he says he thinks water is still been heated as dash is warm. Thinks it may be the motor that opens the doors that lets out the heat.

I was hoping someone could give me the parts name and a serial number, and where I could get a second hand part please, in or near Western Victoria District.

Thanks in Advance"

I just did a search and got this-

Have a look at those Icar & see how ya go!
good luck with it!

cheers,Maka

Yes do the self test engine on in neutral at normal operating temperature (pressd MODE and OFF simultaneously) and it should either reset it and solve the problem or give you an error code.

My CC recently went off with the fairies, needed to be reset (the self test mentioned above)

Hopefully a reset will cure yours.

Is there any way to do the self test in an AU Forte. My issue is that it blows warm air all the time, I had the same issue with my old EF Fairmont and the self test fixed it but the Forte has no climate only heater and aircon so no "mode" button.

No climate control = no computer control = no self test

sorry.

But it sounds like the heater tap has failed - not uncommon.

That's one box ticked off in the scheme of diagnosis.
Awesome thanks aussiblue.
