Just installed the ASL rgb converter kit, using an Alpine dve-5207 stand alone dvd player sound works great but picture is rolling fast with no colour, have i connected it wrong? would the converter be faulty?

switch it to NTSC instead of PAL. what i did is disconnect it from the car, run a longer RCA cable to a portable tv. plug it in. go to settings, change it from PAL to NTSC. then disconnect it and plug it back into your car.

i just tryed that and no picture at all no signal, is that what an pal signal looks like trying to go through an ntsc screen, rolling and jumping around? or is there no picture at all?
maybe because the tv is pal and the dvd player is actually playing ntsc?
i dont know ay but its getting annoying

correct. a PAL signal continually scrolls on a NTSC screen. change the tv setting to NTSC and see what happens.

hey mate yep plugged it all back in again tryed it all apparently my dvd player automatically sets itsself to pal or ntsc plus when i had it running on the tv there was no option to change from pal to ntsc signal due to it being auto so that eliminates that possibility what else could it be ive tryed several dvd players and all have the same rolling picture no matter what setting is used

ok just took it to xtreme car audio they tryed a few things which didnt work either, they tryed hooking up some of their dvd players to my tft screen through the converter and still the same rolling picture, they also tryed a PAL reverse camera which worked on the tft beautifully, i tryed another dvd player of mine an alpine dva-5210 which allows you to set it to ntsc manually which it did display normally until i put a dvd into it then it went back to rolling picture, ?????

the dvd player runs through AUX therfore Dvd sound will not go through the woofer, it is normal.

why is the sound quality low when playing cds or sd card music or dvds? have i got the 2 sound rca plugs plugged into the wrong rca inputs on the dvd player? noticed that there is more than one of the red and yellow rca inputs on the dvd player, the sound quality is a little distorted compared to the separate boosted ipod aux kit which is crystal clear sound
