My guess will be, it fills up with rain and overflows.
Have to park the car on a slight incline so the water can run away through the channels, not build up a puddle.

mine does the same, it runs in the join which is covered with that soft sound deadning stuff, it comes in where the two sheets are overlapped, just run a bead of silicone, along the join from the inside.

Amen brother amen....

from memory its usually either number plate holes or the spoiler holes. If you do a search there is about 50 posts on this topic amigo it is certainly a very frustrating problem I seemed to have fixed mine by accident somehow.

Strikes me as odd that an engineering student can't figure out how to stop some leaks.

But yes, where you marked out is the spot.

Mine leaks from the spoiler, collects inside boot lip. When I lift boot after a good rain, my boot cops a shower.

Another thread around here shows a user drilling holes in the boot lip to allow for extra weep holes.

well, i used to think mine leaked from the spoiler, but not anymore (at least not totally) if you look here, you can see sort of dirt marks with water runs in them on the bootlid, this section is right in the middle of the boot seal on both sides...don't ask me how that happens, but that's where it leaks. it must run down the inside of the boot and into the bottom making it rust GRRRR...
