Default Make a mag?

Would anyone be interested in the creation of a magazine based on the forums knowledge?

Based on members here.

I'm not too sure about charging, I mean, people deserve to paid for content somehow. We could use pictures of forum users cars and other nice looking rides we see around.

Im open to ideas of content if people have things they can write.. would also need a magazine name.. (time to brainstorm), only if there is interest.

not putting it down but if just based on here would we not allready have the info needed ? and how many copies would be made / how often ? and everything costs these days, by that who would pay to run say 500 or 1000 mags every month or so out of thier own pocket? the only other way to cover this cost would be through sponsership and advertisisng.

but that option could work i suppose, you would need to be dedicated for the long haul to make it work , these are just my thoughts

Well, we can run off sponsership. I'm sure that the users here can come up with content also. I'm not too sure about the amount of times a month yet. I'm willing to put time into it if it goes ahead.

Yea, there was an idea back at the old forums (I think) for this. As was said before, why would you need a magazine to show the cars, mods etc when its all on the site. If you wanted to get it to a wider audience, well then money is a huge problem. Anyway nice idea

True there are Ford fans who do not visit forums....

Sounds like a good idea if you get the right resources

EA-FALCON-GL stacks up on printer catridges and reams of paper hehe. :sm_headba

You could always do a sample to create interest. Have members rides, a for sale section all that sorta stuff. Plus its also easier to read it on paper.

Well what you could do is request some pictures of members rides and a bit of imformation and create some kind of layout for us all to see. If you are really serious and show us that you are then the members will be interested in getting their cars out there and may even pitch in.

Like I said it's an idea and could be much more depending on the input but put your pen to paper and show us what you come up with. Good luck mate ;)

A forum mag? Great way to see other member's cars and keep up to date on their mods. Or even a way to make welcome new members by showing their ride in the mag and so on...

I like the idea. It could work. And as Devil Racer said - members interested may be willing to pitch in.

Most all info you need is pretty much on the Forum already but sometimes it makes a little easier if you have it in book form, know what I mean?! Personally, so many times I've printed stuff out so that when I'm away from the computer I can sit and read through all that info I wanted. For me a magazine of some sort would be good.

I say go for it!

How about doing a DVD instead, that way you can get more info on and moving pictures as well, there will be a top sound coming out of the home theatre.
An intro into the start of FORD cars, photos of these cars down through the years. Maybe even a technical side to it as well showing how to change an xe door handle, change the oil on an au, the brake pads on a xc, if someone has an ongoing project then this could be shown. The dvd is all ways there to refer back to.
If anyone has connections with the hierachy of FORD maybe they wouldnt mind contributing to the dvd.
If you guys want to add burnouts or whatever, and may be a group shot of every one next to their pride and joys, interviews of some of the members, and then put it to a vote how much you would be willing to pay for the dvd. ALL extra money would then go to maintaing this site.

I reckon a CD or DVD magazine would be a much more practical and affordable way to do it.

Why not make it, if you want your car in the mag you have to provide something for the mag eg article or tips for it.. That way, it won't just be 20 pages of pics and 2 pages of writing..

A CD/DVD would be good but would it reach the wider auidence as much as a magazine would?

I'd definitley want to participate in a forum mag in a big way, or DVD also. Sounds quite interesting, and fun.

sounds like a pretty cool idea
however there would be HUGE amounts of organisation that need to be taken into consideration etc before you can even think of starting putting articles together.

stuff like printing, distribution, design of layout, graphic design, sorting info etc etc
would it be a one off mag or a series of mags?
would it be in the shops or available online?

its a big task
