Gday. Just wondering if anybody can give me info into converting a 1977 2.0ltr auto escort to manual. Looking at buy the car for young bloke but really wants a manual. The car is perfect condition with only 84000 kms and dont really want to let it go. Cheers Stuart

manual pedal box, possibly flywheel, clutch, manual gearbox, clutch cable, manual tail shaft, manual gearbox cross member. Thats all that comes to mind atm. Maybe someone who has done it to an escort can let me know if i have missed anything.

It ain't rocket science.....I'd probably suggest you buy a complete rusty manual escort rather than buy the components individually. It will be a good referrence while you are doing the work and you can pillage all the little grommets and brackets etc, that you'll need along the way....there's more than you think.
The radiator and inlet manifolds are different btwn auto and manual. If you've got a clean example, its well worth using the correct items rather than bodging it. |
