Good to see the Mondeo selling some good numbers, hopefully it continues.
Falcon I am not so confident about but we will see in the coming months.
Focus could sell better but selling over 1200 a month isn't too bad.

EDIT: Ratt, could you please post Toyota's figures as well?

Good figures. We haven't had a whole month of FG Sales yet, and no new Ute or Wagon on sale, these numbers are promising. Mondeo is finally across the 500 mark, and I bet the dealers who bought Petrol ones in bulk are glad that they did.

Focus is weak compared to sector... we really need that update ASAP!

Fiesta is expected, once again, we need that Mk8 ASAP!

Mondeo looking better every month...

Falcon... good to see her back in the 3xxx's

hopefully Ford can crack 10000 and start making a run at holden for no.2!

(but we need those new models!)

Not the emphatic crushing of the Commodore I was hoping for but I guess supply issues are a problem at the moment.

Kind of scary that Falcon only needs 5000 units to crush the Commodore.

Ford Australia are stuffed, 3200 is a pitiful result for FG, you need to remember they have been building them for quite a while now, so only delivering that many of a new model explains why every thing is in dire straights. There's no saving the company from here, especially if fuel prices continue to soar.

Yes, they have been building them, but very few cars with Factory options have come through, and there are no V8/I6T cars for sale either. We also have to remember that FG was only for sale for 3 weeks of May. If the numbers haven't improved by this time next year, then Ford have problems. Their costs will be halved come 2010, which will also help their bottom line.

um, correct me if im wrong, but these results would probally be around 2/3's BF falcons? next month the FG sales will be more significant.

Whats with the general attitude?

Alot of those Falcon sales would have been made up of FG Dealer Demos aswell as runout BFII, so it is a worrying time for FG.

Wrong, there are V8s for sale, have been for well over 2 weeks. The general concensus is there is a LACK of interest in FG..

Its a simple matter of very few orders, and not much general interest. No one wants big cars anymore, and it pains me to say it but Ford are in a bit of trouble here. The next few months will tell the story.

I have spent the last month in dealers yards.. talking ot dealers
General concesnsus is that the FG has generated a bit of interest, but not a rush, and a lot of people are looking an not buying...

btw..i bought a Mondeo...

Ford

Ford Falcon 3,320
Ford Falcon Ute 915

Holden

Holden Commodore 4,215
Holden Utility 4X2 1,112

Question: Are the 'Ford Falcon ute' and 'Holden Utility 4x2' the same equivolent product or is the 'Holden Utility 4x2' something else all together?

If it is a different product to the falcon ute, are they bundling ute sales numbers into the 'Holden Commodore' numbers? If so, combining the falcon ute and falcon sedan sales it would make it:

Ford Falcon 4,235
Holden Commodore 4,215

Or am i off track?

You can also look at it another way.
Holden only sold 90 more Australian built cars than Ford.

Falcon
Jan - 1252
Feb - 2520
Mar - 2322
Apr - 1884
May - 3320

Commodore
Jan - 3210
Feb - 4313
Mar - 3998
Apr - 3324
May - 4215

And Falcon sales as a percentage of Commodores sales:
Jan - 39%
Feb - 58%
Mar - 58%
Apr - 56%
May - 78%

So some inroads made there based on May alone.

Why all the negativity! Peter Warrens have only really since late last week received a decent supply of "retail" cars such as the XR6 and a couple of XR8's (last Friday).

So most of those figures will be BF and demonstrators, and a small amount of fleet.

FG won't change the world but the response has been encouraging.

Im satisfied with those figures, considering FG has just come out a few weeks ago, I wanna see the figures of the first 2 FULL months of FG sales and see whats what then.

Also i was at the Bryan Byrt Ford dealership at Mt Gravvatt Brisbane on saturday looking at a new falcon....and many people their test driving FG's, I think the next 3 months will be VERY promising for Ford and FG.
