Default Ecoboost 1 litre 3 cylinder

http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mell...25794400156179

92 kw and 170nm, 200nm with overboost. Pretty impressive from such a tiny motor. Basically the same power but a bit more torque than the current 1.6 in Focus, with 20% better economy.

One journo mentioned Ford Australia have rejected it for here though, but not confirmed.

Too bad it's rejected; for a moment Holden were thinking their sisi 3.0 could compete with something.

This would go well in the Fiesta.

You'd think if this is slated for the Focus, then maybe there's something smaller for the Fiesta.

Those are really good specs, would be an awesome base engine for the MK7 Fiesta series rather than the 1.6L Duratec

Why don't we get the good engines here? There's also the 1.6 litre ecoboost in the Focus, instead we get the 2 litre, with no option of ecoboost.

The most impressive thing about this engine is its size- the area it takes up when looking down from above is less than an A4 page... THAT is amazing!

Cost i'd assume. The ecoboost 1.6 would be more expensive than the NA 2 litre. I Europe where petrol prices are way higher it works, but with lower petrol prices here the extra economy probably doesn't offset the higher cost.

We will be getting the 2 litre Ecoboost in the Focus ST, and the 1.6 Ecoboost in the Fiesta ST though.
