Default Tickford ID plate?

Hey AU fans and owners, i've just purchased an AU xr8 series 2 and every xr i have looked at has a tickford ID plate with the options on it on the drivers side of the engine bay, well mine doesn't have any plate at all and no rivit holes showing one was there ... has anyone come across this before or am i an odd one out? Any help is appreciated.

It has leather interior, premium sound, sunroof, body kit, momo wheel etc.

It should have one there if the option's were factory ordered, not sure if the leather interior is classed as one to be put on the I.D plate , it was just an option throughout the AU range anyway, this goes for the pre- sound aswell, I doubt they would be listed on the tag.
The sunroof/bodykit and wheel should be listed and as it is not , maybe it was added by previous owner, post factory.

See i'm unsure because ive seen sunroof on a tag, but it has basically all the options but as i said there isn't even any rivit holes to say say there was ever a tag ... could tickford just not put one on by mistake? It has the hand built engine and engine cover, the books say its an xr 8 so i dunno.

options may have been dealer fitted as the car may have been on the lot new and ordered and fitted with the options later

Yeah but would they fit a factory sunroof etc after being on the lot for example? My question is i guess, did every xr come out with the option plate?

It still might have been added latter even if it was a dealer princibles or such vehicle, or even ordered after and fitted by the dealer as requested by the buyer, who know's really.

Yeah that's it, just seems weird with everything it has that no plate was put on but as you said it all could have been fitted after been on the lot ... should i ring ford or Ballarat ford to see what they say or not worth worrying about?

You could try ringing Ford to see what the vehicle was ordered with from the factory and then try the dealer to see if they have any record's, and even try the owner that ordered it, by asking the dealer, they should have their record's.

Eclipse are pretty good with their records and are generally pretty helpful so start there.

From memory all of them got the ID plate.

Base model missed out on Tickford ID all other extra mods that were done at Tickford should have been plated, seems more likely mods were a dealer option
Mine has no body kit listed as it was dealer fitted, For what its worth there are a heap of XR8 utes with no plates either as nearly all the dealers loaded them with options to off load them before the BA release

So mine was a base model with all the mods being dealer fitted?

Eclipse are very much known for fitting bits as dealer options.

Well that makes sense then, i have a base model with dealer fitted options. I just never seen an xr without the ID plate before which when i saw mine i thought was very strange.

Not that it matter's that much mate, you still have a genuine XR8 with Genuine bit's, just not fitted from the factory, but still Tickford gear.

My AU2 has the plate and has the TIckford Body Kit and the MoMo Wheel stamped into it, But i also assume that the MoMo wheel was combined with the MoMo gear knob however the gear knob isn't stamped on the plate, and the gear knob wasn't on the car when i bought it.

From memory (though I can't remember 100%), my old series 1 XR8 had Momo stamped on the plate for the wheel, I don't remember it having the knob with it.
