Default EOI AU I6 underdrive

BPT are prepared to produce underdrives for the AU I6 if they get an initial order of 20 units . I am awaiting price but they are similar to the BA ones so that will be a guide i will update price when i have it but if you think you'll be interested add your name to the list. I'm first :

We got them for $215 without the serpentine belt. And PB are still making them, we had a little scare but it turned out to be all good and they continued to make em.

I'll have to talk to Tim Staier and see if I can get a corresponding overdrive pulley for the blower. Then see if the next sized belt down is available here. What % underdrive are we looking at?

FFS you insist i give you a price so i guess then you whinge a few points

1 the price you state is for something no longer available and does not include the belt my guess was based on a belt as well, did you ever think the ones for 200 as you stated were withdrawn because the were loosing $ on them ?
2 the ones you mention were for a B series and will not work on the AU as we all know. these will have the exciter ring required by the AU this will make them dearer than the B series ones due to the extra work and development involved
3 I originally wanted to wait till I had a price from BPT but you insisted on a price I make a guess and only a guess and you whinge
4 you obviously expected the price to be in the same ball bark as I guessed by this comment

this EOI is for those interested in purchasing and if you have no interest your comments are not welcome and off topic so go whinge were someone cares . people like you complain there is nothing available for the AU and when someone goes to the effort to chase things up you let the negativity flow, no wonder no one wants to get involved in this kind of development

I got it for $38 from Burson's. I don't know if you guy's would use the same belt size as us but if it is they're extremely hard to get a hold of. Off the top of my head I think it was a RPK165 or something like that.. I am probably wrong cause it has been a long time since I bought it, but at least its a solid figure on price.

Have BPT given you a spec for the pulley yet? I need the diameter to give to Raptor so they can see if they have a suitable pulley & belt to drive the blower at the right speed.

Bear in mind that the B-series items were done off a base of 100 firm orders. BPT are looking at an initial run of 20 as per the OP. So these are never going to get anywhere near the price of the B-series items at that small a volume as the design & development costs have to be recouped over a much smaller production run.

Another member (with links to Powerbond IIRC) tried to get an EOI going a while ago and was trying to get 100 names. I think he got 3 or 4. IIRC he mentioned a development cost of something around $10,000. That over 100 units means $100 of the sale price of each unit goes towards recovering the development costs. Try that over 20 units... $500 each. So no-one's making a motza out of them.

If we want this to get up we need a bit of altruism here. If 100 people are prepared to grit their teeth yet go ahead at $400, we might end up only paying say $250 given the more complex design. Every one who turns away makes it costlier for the rest.

I have just spoken to barry at BPT and he said it would be a 20% underdrive and the cost as a ball park figure would be about $ 350 for the pully set and $65 for the belt a firm price is to be confirmed when we have numbers
