Can you buy repro ones of these decals? Probably not worth the effort of me doing anything with these if you can..
They look like the real thing to me, I measured them at 487x100mm. Does thats ound about right?
Where abouts are you in NZ Cheyne?
Hey Monty, I'm in Invercargill, bottom of south island - not too sure about those ones, the only factory ones I have seen are actually white with a black shadow/outline - but that is not to say that they are not for a polar/cosmic Superbird - the dimensions definately sound about right - the decal part number I have for them is 25622.

I know Ian Brooks had decals like that on his Superbird, it featured in Street Machine last year I think? also sold on aussie muscle car sales last year - although his had been through a bare metal resto.

They are the same looking as the repro ones available which store owner does claim to have been made from genuine Superbird decals - so... I would say that they appear to be and possibly are correct decals but really needs to be confirmed by someone with a gen unresto'ed Superbird - or someone with a very very good memory....

Default XC Coupe A Pillar Trim

Hi,
The A pillar plastic trim on my XC Coupe has a few cracks. Does anyone have any surplus they want to sell or can they be repaired.
I have attached a few pictures of my cracked ones.

Thanks and Regards

Wayne

hey wayne
have you thought about plastic welding - that may be an option, and keeps it original. a motor trimmer may be able to lead you in the right direction. if you are in melbourne, i could probably give you a lead - looking at your number plates, probably nsw

maybe i am seeing the wrong part in my head, but were the xc's the only ones with plastic or the late xb's as well?? i do not think mine has plastic there, certainly not the full length of the a pillar

Hi mate,
I did think about plastic welding but the surface has a texture. I will look into it. Thanks.

I am in NSW but my avitar picture was taken in the UK when I lived there hence the black on yellow plates.

I think that you are right that this part is unique to the XC.

Thanks

Wayne

Wayne

They should weld it from the back so as not to affect the texture.

To be fair they dont look that bad.

I saw the Ebay ones... thats a rediculous price for some decals lol.. I'll see if i can find someone with a Superbird locally, I see two occasionally around here, and compare. Unless someone here with a SB wants to measure their decals?

I'll get some copies made from this one and send them your way if you want.

The reason i asked where you're from, i'm a kiwi myself, and i'll be heading home for a holiday shortly.. but my parents live in the rangitikei area (Nth Island).
Born in Christchurch tho ;)

Default Fairmont Coupe Cleveland motor for sale on Ebay

Hi all,
Hope I'm putting this in the correct place, but I thought this might help someone out. This is not mine or anybody I know. Just found it while browsing.

It's a motor from a Fairmont Coupe, engine number JG67NG-----K.

Hi all, I've been trying to track down a pair of handbrake levers that fit onto the calipers of a disc brake 9" diff with the forward mounted calipers. I think these diffs were fitted to XB GT's, Landau's, and LTD's.

Has anyone got a pair I can buy or able to point me int the right direction to find some?

Cheers

Default XC Fairmont Coupe Seat Runner Guides

Hi,
The front left seat in my XC Fairmont coupe is loose on the runners.
It is missing the plastic guides that sit in the inner rail. They are about 5mm square.
Are the coupe and sedan seat runners the same?
Has anybody got two that I could buy or does anybody know where I can get them from.
Please PM me if you have any for sale.

Thanks

Wayne

Managed to find 2 GS/T dash fascia's and two sets of gauges to suit.
The wiring loom is being custom made and will be identical in all aspects to the factory item.
Have been offered a restored 73 dated GS/T steering wheel that i will be purchasing as well. :

I'm fussy.

Reproduction. If you want NOS badges good luck. Keep an eye on ebay. I would way prefer the repo ones over a second hand 'good' condition one. The repo ones are good enough for a concourse resto. There is always gear knobs on Ebay. These are repo as well.

I have a gear knob. In fact, a whole single rail box with 120,000 miles. What have you got laying around?

What are you after? anything inperticular.

What condition is the gear knob in. Is the white insert worn, are there any cracks or damage?
Thanks
