Default Access to rear hatch door lock 2017 Titanium

Hi, was wondering whether any members can assist. Our hatch door lock doesn't open when we press the external button to open the hatch door, but the lock does unlock when we press the remote. So I'm thinking the solenoid for the lock must be working and perhaps it is something else. So I wanted to access the lock through the tailgate/hatch - does anyone know how I can remove the internal panels?

This must be a common issue on LZ Focus. The boot button also failed on our 2016 Focus Trend and now my 2018 LZ Titanium. I'm ordering a new button from Ford tomorrow at about $80.
