Hurrah actually, lol, i love GTA series but i cant afford a PS3 yet.

Hopefuly by the time it does come out, PS3's will be a bit cheaper

I think they are going to drop to about 800 in november or december. Need to get to 600 before i can justify that much.

No. PS2 is rubbish for GTA titles. Compare GTA:SA on PS2 and PC...absolutely no comparison. Rockstar aren't going to waste their time coding for an outdated system that does not do the game justice.

GTA IV also uses a new game engine and has no loading screens, which is contrast to other GTA games. No more Spray 'n Pay, no changes of physique, stealing cars is far more sophisticated now...the game is better, and a PS2 would not do it any justice.

There has been talk for a while that GTA IV would purposely be be delayed to allow Halo 3 to gain a better chunk of the market. With both GTA IV and Halo 3 being major titles for XBox, why make them compete?

I am not a fan of consoles anyway...I am waiting for the PC release.

I will now try to find the best preview of GTA IV I can find...I read one recently and it was fantastic. From what I can ascertain, there have been two demos of GTA IV. The first was short and allowed far less...the second demo tried (under supervision by Rockstar) was far longer and gave far greater scope.

Liberty City has been broken into five boroughs and although the total map size is smaller than San Andreas, the game is bigger because it is extremely dense, compared to desert and hills on San Andreas. This demo, it is estimated only explored 15% of the total area of the reformed Liberty City. We are going to get a great game.

Nah...I just think PS2s are no good. PS3 will be good for a while though...until PCs take over once again.

But that is a fact...San Andreas pushed the limits of the PS2 as it was...to put GTA IV on the PS2 would cause the bloody thing to explode.

On another note...
I wish the console developers would just wise up and sell a freakin' mouse to go with their consoles. I mean , they already come with guitars and dance floors and steering wheels and DVD remotes and snowboards and who knows what else!?! A mouse people. A mouse. Its simple.

... and well done Einstein to anyone who responds to this with "but then it will just be like a PC"... no , its already like that. Same components. Duh. I don't get why people don't about not being able to upgrade their consoles like they about not being able to upgrade a mac.

why don't we all just buy PCs and plug them into our HD LCD tv's!?!? The console is obsolete people! its a PC in a funky shiny box without the capability to upgrade and a OS that only sometimes runs games when it feels like it. thats crap. stop buying them, just stop. sony is crap. their products fall apart. the xbox 360 is no better.

well.......i'd rather them delay the release of it if it needs more work/fine tuning than release it to a schedule..... the game will be better for it IMO

from what i've heard, they were a little optimistic about getting the ps3 version right in time for launch, and due to contractual obligations with sony they delayed the launch for both platforms until 2008 rather than release the xbox360 version before ps3. I'll try and find the link for that....

Why is it so unreasonable that the PS3 is $1000? Blu ray players alone go for more than that and can do much less. Im glad I bought mine, and that im not a tight ***. Cannot wait for this game though, that sucks!

Well yeah i can understand why its a $1000, with all the technology and all that, but 1g is quite a bit of dough. Thats a sound system for a car, or like 2 years worth of rego or 2 greenslips. Now if PS3 was say $500 i would definately have one, but at the moment ill just wait.

Didn't the PS2 sart off at like $800 when it was forst realesed? I waited like 3 years and picked one up for $300.

So I will wait a little while until I can afford a PS3. I'm not a tight , I simply can't afford one!

Forget hacks, but for gaming, I prefer PC. However, I know people who cannot use a PC to save themselves but love their consoles and have finished all their games (in which they own a lot).

Started PC gaming back in 1990 when I turned 7 and really have not looked back much at all.

GTA has always been superior on PC than it has on consoles simply because of the mouse. But I agree, MGS2 was a pain on the controls, but it is not a game that is suitable for the mouse. The engine is not ideal.

That's why I like MMOs, and no WOW either. That's the newbie one.

But GTA also takes over a year to come to PC each time. I couldn't wait that long to play it. I also cant stand sh*tty console games that are so much easier then the PC counterparts. Like any of the GRAW games, or Rainbow 6. Try Raven shield on PC, then the xbox equivalent. Its so annoying.

The reason why Rockstar release on consoles before PC is that there is greater money in consoles because the products are licensed. PC is more open-slather.

I am prepared to wait anyhow.

PC Gaming is awesome...spot on buddy.

Secondly, as I said, there is less money in PC gaming than consoles so they put their eggs in the console basket first. PC also has great potential, although XBox 360 and PS3 challenge the PC with current releases more than PS2 did when San Andreas was released. San Andreas on PS2 looked and played like rubbish.
