Default What would you saw somebody trying to break into your car

Now this is just for fun to see what ppl would do. Please try and keep in as realistic as possible eg no say that you will kill them. While keeping in the rules try and be creative and thing of something you would do (all you have is yourself no weapons).

Starting with me, if i saw a guy avarage build trying to open my door i would sneak up to him (making sure i be quite) then tap him on the sholder and as he turns around give him a good hit to the face (hopefully dazing him). Next i would slam him to the ground probably hit him a few times more and then take his wallet out and rob him. After all that i would say "how's it feel now" and drive off.

what would you guys do??

if i saw a guy trying to break into my car i would walk up to him and say "HAY, WHAT THE **** ARE YOU DOING" he would turn around to hit me so i would punch him in his face then when he falls to the ground i would kick him in the ribs 4-5 times then get some rope out of my car and tie him up and call the cops.

I know a bloke who caught someone in his car trying to steal the headunit or something, driver's door open, and he was half in, half out...

So he tackled the door, it got the guy right in the mid section/torso area... owned him to say the least... then he called the police and sat there leaning against it until they came. Something like that would suffice. Nothing over the top violence killing death, but effective.

Gotta ask though, what's the point of a thread like this? It'll probably end up getting closed for some reason or another....

I would say - "You are about to be become an entry in the Guiness Book of Records for the most amount of plastic reconstructive surgery conducted on a human's face". Then I'd start with the head shots.

Funny thing is, any violence towards the thief is illegal and the thief could charge you!

Back on topic.
I'd ask the person if he locked his keys in and needed a hand to open the door.
Then I'd press the busson on my remote ;)

After that [Not appropiate for public forums] and then I'd wipe the blood of my boots and drive home.

No one mess's with my cars!

Section 458 of the crimes act allows any person to arrest a person on certain grounds and to effect that arrest may use resonable force. If a thief is caught in the act damaging/stealing etc your car you may arrest that person and hold them until police arrive. Of course this is not always wise. If they resist you may you reasonable force, not disproportional, to keep them in custody.

Tie their hands to their feet behind their back, chuck them into the boot and play "stop-start traffic" or do the old pac run.

I remember years a go one night when I was at a mates place drinking in his garage & my car was parked in his driveway. We heard a noise out side & hit the electric garage door opener & the look on the would be theifs face when he was suddenly confronted by about 10 blokes who'd picked up various axes, mallets & any other tools they could find was priceless. We were all too pist to actually catch him but you should have seen him run.

They break into my car, I break their face. And they want to hope none of my mates aren't around too. Not trying to sound tough or anything but these little sh*ts think they can do what ever they want.

If they went to court they'd just get a slap on the wrist and be breaking into another car the next day so I'd dish out my own punishment. Some people just don't have respect for anyone elses property these days. Yet if it happened to them then they would be the first to kick and scream.

Similar incident to the above. almost had enough grog and heard the noises, walked out the front and seen them, started to chase the two of them and the neighbour joined me after hearing the noise .

One ran up the lane and the other jumped the fence , i tried to jump the fence and missed, broke a couple ribs instead "hate gettin old"

Cops seen us from up the rd and asked us were we chasing two young blokes in black t-shirts, answered yes, they asked us to stay put and wait for them to return

They got two kids and stood at the front of thier wagon and said they will give us 10 mins to fix them as they cant do anything and they will be out in an hour or so.

As we opened the door , these kids screamed thier guts out at the sight of me mate Patch an me, one started crying an all, but alas they wer'nt the two we were chasing, just in the wrong place they were, but i dont think they will forget it for a while.

I'd be tempted to slam the thief's head into the bonnet, leaving a dent and the blood on the bonnet as a warning to the next punk who thinks about stealing my car.
If it was at home, it would be tempting to drag the punk into the garage and break out the phone book on him then let him go when I think he's had enough, or I felt better.

Hogtie him.

Attach to the ute.

Drive.

Now, realistically...

I would probably have to restrain him somehow, then ring proper authorities.

I'd ring the cops, then approach him with the "need a hand? Locked your keys in eh?" approach. Keep him there. Try and keep him busy to 5 0 arrive.

Many years ago my old mans merc was being broken into every wednesday at his office between 3-5pm.
We set a trap and caught this little 14yo kid with a big mouth.
I grabbed him and he tried to kick and punch me. I am 6'5" and 120+kg so I do not like hitting a 14yo, but this kid kept hitting me. I slapped him a few times, but he got more violent, so I threw him against a brick wall a couple of times. He was abusing me and kept trying to get away.
We called the cops and I locked him in a toilet.
The cops turned up and said they knew this little *****, as he had been busted before. The kid was now abusing me and the cops, saying there is nothing the can do, etc. The cops cuffed him and grabbed him by the arms and legs and threw him headfirst into the padyd wagon. They then drove up the road and slammed on the brakes and then did a rapid U turn. I could hear him crying as they stopped across the road to check on him. I told him that we may not be able to "legally" do much, but if he was caught again, we would give him a real beating. We never saw him again.
I did not like hitting a kid, but it was the only thing we could do as most of the hits were in self defence of a total dilenquient.
But If I caught an adult breaking into my car, it would depend on if it was at my house. If it was at home I would detain him for the cops, but if it was away from my house, I would beat some sence into him for invading my property. The beating would be desigend to give him a permenant reminder of his actions, like broken bones or a nice scar. If they want to do the crime, they can suffer the result if caught.

I'd probably light up a smoke, go over and have a chat with him. Give em a few hints on how to get past smartlock. Grab ownership papers, address book and a few bits of memoriabilia from the console and wish him a nice day - tell him to have fun and make sure to turn economy mode off.

Insurance worth a lot more than what i could sell it for.

Classic.
I've had a few guys trying to tip things from my car (badges etc). I was at work one day and dad just happened to drive by and say hi. He goes to drive off and there are 2 wogs really scoping out the car. I dont know what was said, but my dad didn't even have to get out of the car and they were gone. I would've felt sorry for them tho, he's 6'2, 120kg+ ex body builder, plenty of police/security training.

ZapXR6T, While I admire your restraint the reality is kids like this think they can do what ever they want to who ever they want and no one can touch them . They are taught this at school these days and although it needs to be true in many circumstances , it should not apply when they go looking for trouble like this! I had a 16 year old , without a licience driving his dads car after a few drinks try to run over one of my house mates a few years back !He missed my mate , but hit my runaround! I pulled him out of the car by his hair through the window ( after smashing it with a brick ) and he procedded to try get away !He is a big bloke (forward for a local league team) , but not the 6'3" and 125 kgs I am ! When he realised I wasnt going to let him go he started with the you cant touch me Im a minor and all that . He will get a slap on the wrist and he will be back with his mates to steal everything i own and there is nothing anyone can do about it ! I have had things stolen before , and it hurts as I work hard to get the things I want! . I just kept telling him the cops have been called and he WILL be here when they arrived. Then he spat in my face ! Way wrong answer ! He had a perplexed look on his face when I hooked my self 2 times to the side of my own face ! Then i pulled him close to my face and thru gritted teeth , told him he should not have hit me ! I split both his lips and broke his nose , and when he ended up on the ground i passified him with my knee on his neck face down on the hot concrete ! 15 mins later the cops got there he was very subdued and and started screaming at the cops that I had assulted him! Do you think the cops beleived him when he told them i punched myself ! needless to say , he and his mates havent been around yet and he steers claer when we see eachother around the place ! He did get cokey once with his mates down the drags , but thats another matter entirely!

You must've seen me do that... Walking home from the pub and see a bloke with a coat hanger working on my old XC... Walked up behind him and asked if he needed any help... "Locked my keys in my car" was the response... Damn those drivers windows are expensive.

Beat the crap out of them, lock them in the boot, and happily drive around town until I was good and ready to dump the body.

Catch them and keep them for a while - no one will know where they are - they are not going to tell mummy I will be down at no 7 stealing the car.
Fantasy time here
1 very sharp blade and take the first layer of skin off from their chest then rub in dencorub/metho liberally into the area
Bend them over - piece of conduit into the butt and then pour draino in there
Remove fingers with an oxy torch - cuts and seals at the same time no mess.
Remove fingers with blunt bolt cutters messy
Remove teeth with vice grips also messy
And a thousand more I can think of :

I had sometry to steal my hilux as you may know a real old hilux you can start it with a screwdriver new ways the funny part of this story is i had the engine out. I came to front (hearing the smasking of glass) of the house as i live in the back garage and no one else was in the house he was sitting there trying to turn it over i told him to clutch start it and i grab his bike locked it in our garage, by this time the the 16 year got out of the car a sized me up he was bigger and he had a few swings at me but 2 years of boxing helps. but this is the best part one of my dad and his mate turn up from pig hunting and my mates dad had his big dog in the back you could nearly pass him of as a horse and they saw what was going on and got the dog onto him the dog would never hurt a person but a pig you don't need a gun or knife when you go out with this dog its pig crazy. all the dog did to the kid, as he ran down to the back fence was knock the lad to the ground before he could jump our 6 foot fences and licked him to death the lad was screaming and hitting the dog trying to get him off because he thought he was being mauled and the dog just laid on top of him licking his face. we did call the cops cause i scored a $500 bmx and later that day we fitted the new engine which my dad and his mate brought around with them.
