Default Time for new tyres

I know this question is asked all the time and I have searched the threads but can't find a definitive answer.

Time has come once again to put new tyres on the LTD.
Being conservative up until now I have stuck with what was on from original fitment i.e. 225/60/16 Dunlop Sports D8z.

Every tyre joint I go to recommends something different, namely Pirelli, Yokohama, Bridgestone or Michelin

All I want is a quiet tyre with plenty of grip.

I have ruled out the el-cheapo tyres and I think the Dunlops are about $245 each. They tell me they are hard to get and are a funny size!!!

I know tyre choice is subjective but I don't want to change and find that I have bought noisy tyres.
