Yes - driveline losses are not a straight %. In fact, I'd suggest there would a set amount of driveline loss, and then probably a % on top. So, for example, a BTR transmission in AU spec may zap 25kw off the bat, and then a further 5 or 10% of total power (heat etc are all power losses). The 25% is a rough rule of thumb (20% for manuals), and that's all it is.

To work out exactly how many rear wheel kilowatts (or mockawatts) you have, you must dyno the car (and yes, I know that sounds obvious.......).

Yep, and that is supported by a 220 having around 165 at the wheels. Rule of thumb works well, doesn't it (as a guide!).
