That's the way it works in Europe. If you see you're holding up somebody behind or causing a tailback, you pull to the left at the first available wide sealed shoulder and let others overtake. I've seen truckies do it here but not much else. I've heard that Australians are a very courteous race, so should be no problem to start the ball rolling on this one.
As for coming over the blind brow of a hill at 110 without foot over the brake pedal, nah, I wouldn't do it. Comes under the defensive driving head. It's not the fault of the person driving slowly on the other side. Won't be too critical though, I'm sure I've done it once or twice myself (at 100) - according to the braking capabilities of what I'm driving!
