Unhappy Rough Ride

Hey guys, After having my car lowered i've noticed how much rougher the ride is especially on bumpy country roads. What would my options be by making it a lot smoother? Diff suspension? This might sound like a stupid question but do you have have to have low profile tyres with different rims?

thats why i haven't lowered there is always a trade off, the lower you go the harder the ride. low profiles add to this but you need to stick to the correct profile for your rim size or the rolling diameter is altered

I changed my ghia suspension to standard xr height (bought xr springs and new shocks) and hated the ride. It was far too abrupt for long trips (when we go on trips we tend to cover 5000+k's in 10 days or so).

I had the opportunity to buy a set of low km Pedders touring springs and shocks (xr height) and really like the ride. It's firm enough to handle well but very comfortable on long trips (thanks George). My brother-in-law ended up with my xr springs and shocks and after riding in my car has decided that he too will swap over to the Pedders touring stuff.

With regard to rims, you don't *have* to change them. My car came with 16"s standard but I think that bigger rims suit the shape better so I bought some 17"s. I then swapped my 17"s for 18"s but found them also too firm on trips. I swapped back to my 17"s.
For me, 17"s are the best compromise between looks and comfort.

So as it stands I'm very happy with the Pedders touring bits and 17" rims.
