I have asked everyone and know one knows so looking for some direction? Is my 2002 AU ute engine standard or is it an high performance engine ?
The rocker cover is RED. The Engine code is X If other details are needed feel free to ask. |

If its red. it should be a Tickford engine. If it has VCT badges, it VCT, if it hasnt, and is just plain red, its the HP version. They are both performance orientated engines with the HP being arguably the best 6 cylinder engine Ford has produced in a long time other than the BARRA.

Does the Cylinder Head have a T Cast in it? Look to the right of where the Fan Belt runs past the Power Steering pump. It should be there, if it is a Tickford engine.
Rocker Covers aren't hard to swap.

is it an AU3 XLS? They have the Tickford engine standard.

Can get them from a wreckers for about $20 ... best HP upgrade EVA.

The above is a VCT engine - the AU3 XLS got the XR6 HP engine which doesnt have the VCT idler sticking out the front like the one in the picture does.

Yes it is a AU3 xls. NO T on the rocker cover, or vct intecch. Sounds like the XR6 HP engine. THanks for the info.
