Well I'm hoping the technical supervisor found the fault with the random ESP/ABS clicks when those systems werent in operation. For the first time today, the computer recorded a communications error. This caused the ESP light to come on. This could mean multiple things. So in otherwords the car has been making electronic faults for a while now. However because of the communication error the computer hasn't been able to log the errors. Makes sense, right? A question for those more mechanically/electrically enclined. What could be the cause? What do you think would be most likely? 1. Lose cable. Tech supervisor didn't sound so hopeful. This was because all visual cables seemed too be in place. 2. CAN short sircut (as suggested by RAA and a local vehicle electronic specialist). Possibly due to faulty wireing. 3. Internal wireing issue between abs, esp and computer. Regards, L42B PS: This could also well explain why the car started in gear on Sunday and the throttle body was wide open, and then the car took off. I was no where near the passenger seat, which in hindsight was probably incredibly stupid (I started the car leaning through the window.) I wanted to check an air leak from the front of the engine. Damage was minor and nobody was hurt. I was told my Tech that this was impossible, showed him photoes and argued that I had evidence. Seemed to make him somewhat worried when the computer spat out the communications error. |
