I worked out that if I live to the age my grandfather is now 87, my newborn son will be 50 years old! Made me realise just how old the old old man is.

The "limited heartbeat" theory was popular about 100 years ago, gymnasiums and cardio-related activities were frowned upon due to the belief that causing the heart to beat faster would shorten your lifespan would you believe!

Of all the countries in the world I would've thought of maybe 30 countries that would have been worse off IMO. Mugabe is obviously ruling with an iron fist.
Again an average figure - due to child mortality and AIDS:

Still with the laws of averages it is a shocking figure. And although child mortality and aids are the main causes, the trade embargo and the way Mugabes regime deals with Racism (which generally means no foreign aid workers) and general living conditions mean that the figures are lot worse than they really should be.

Rwanda, Republic of Congo, Ethiopia are generally poorer countries with worse conditions but have a better "average" life expectancy but aid workers and foreign aid generally helps, especially when you are welcome and not hated.
