I'm quite happy to get my own beer!
And more often than not I'll see if anyone else wants one while I'm there. Most other guys I know seem to be the same, fetch your own and while you're there if anyone else wants one grab for them.

Parties, pretty much most weekends involve an all-nighter, usually due to lack of funds to buy a taxi home after spending it all on grog. So pretty much start walking home or just keep drinking till the next morning when my dad wakes up and call him to come get me
![]() EDIT: Thats not a stupid reason, thats just called being young and making the most of it while im able! |

I pull all nighters only occasionally to complete assignments... it's hard to do it when you still go to school full time, and so I cherish every second of sleep I get. I'd never do it voluntarily, unless it was the holiays, or I didn't have to be doing something the next day.

I'm doing a Bachelor/Master of Architecture. Anyone who knows someone who has done Architecture at University will understand. I've done about 30 allnighters over the past two years and will double that in the next three.
Apart from Uni, the best parties strangely end up being all nighters ![]() |

I pulled a 36 hour study session to pass a bullshit geoengineering class. 24 of those 36 hours were spent completing about 20 labs that were (over)due. I finished that marathon with a six pack of beer.
Another time I pulled an allnighter to finish an assignment/presentation for an environmental class. Unfortunately I did it on "pest species" instead of the actual topic, "endangered species". My hastily-revised opening line was "the Crown-of-Thorns Starfish is a... misunderstood... endangered species" Best allnighter involved my bourbon being spiked with No-Doz at a mate's place. I don't remember much of what happened but I was pretty wrecked the next morning! |

I am having one tonight! Unfortunately i'm working though.
Had a two nighter a couple of weeks ago though. Woke up at 2pm on the tuesday arvo and started my last night shift at 6pm and worked through till 6am. Hit the p*ss after work until the plane arrived at 11am. Flew back to townsville and headed straight to the seaview and continued on through till 3am when the clubs closed (stopped drinking at 11pm). Went to a mates place and hung out while I sobered up. Once I was under 0.05 bac jumped in the mates car and drove him home to innisfail (he was still drinking). Got on my motorbike and went the rest of the way to cairns. Got home at 10am. Needless to say I slept till 4pm and the went to bed early again and slept right through till 8am the next morning. It was fun but I won't be doing that again ever. |

And also forgot to add the allnighters that I pulled for uni were heaps worse than that one. Maybe its something about having to use your brain for so long that really wears you out.

Well how's this for sad, i'm only 19 and already pulled an all nighter working on the car (the night before was a 4am finish too), was in january. I have my reasons, the car was in bits on tuesday still needed a lot of work, wednesday was valentines day and thursday i was going away. And i didn't want to work on it during wednesday. Didn't really realise what the time was untill my brother got up and went to work while i was still in the garage.
But yeah, parties make the best all nighters, so do dark zone sesions cheers

Oh well, its been entertaining reading the stories, and that's what I created it for in the first place, entertainment while I was awake! Oh yeah, many many LAN parties have been overnighters for me.

The one that sticks in my mind:
School Assignment - Leading up to my software design assignment being completed in 2004, I didn't sleep from a Wednesday morning to Friday. Wednesday morning went to school till 3, work from 4 to 12, assignment 12-8, school 8-3, work 4-12, assignment 12-8, then school. I ended up sleeping through all my classes on the Friday. |

My stupid reason for pulling an all nighter. Well the trains stop running from the city at midnight on weekends and noone leaves a pub before then so you just have to break through the pain barrier and drink untill 5. Then make sure you don't fall asleep on the train and miss your stop.

LOL Dave.
I think Ive only done it twice, once for uni and the other time we were out in melbourne, got to the point where we spend all out cash on booze so we waited until 6 in the morning to catch a train home. For those stuck in Melb with nothing to do, Crown as a huuuge TV screen and a bar right next to it ;)
