they look like SSL MGM as my ute sit alike with my 18" on and the shocks could be be koni's , if they are they could be fully adjustable as mine have a 12 point adjustable ,damping and rebound ,but the pedders are the best non adjustable shocks on the market from what i've heard.
Hope this helps a bit! Here is a couple of pic of my beast |

Go Ultra lows on ya xr8 woody. That should get you there. Ride quality will suffer though, but if you dont mind, who cares?

superlows in my lane and debs lane
once i put the Boge Short Shocks in the front and standard length in the rear(only available in that length for IRS).. the car handled WAY better and rode nicely The Monty was suprised how smooth it rode but handled great on skidpan (doing a slalom type course) and for the price the Boge shocks are great

Pedders are RUBBISH, they are cheap and nasty... having said that of the cheap brands they are probably the best, but they are still rubbish....hate them with a capital H!
If you can afford a few bucks extra Bistein are brilliant, I had a set on a V8 EL Fairlaine, it handled as well as any falcon I have had over the years apart from my current AU and rode better than any ford I have ever been in. Absolutely incredible and if I had the readies right now I would be at the suspension place next week having a set fitted. The don't knock, they fit the lowered suspension perfectly and they do everything really well. BILSTEIN this is not a paid announcement, it is my 2c... |

I've got Whiteline Low's in the front of my ute and supposably King Low leaves in the back but it sits lower in the back than the front, plus i can't put much weight in the back. Looking for some new rear leave's

Yeah, what he said. The fairlane handled so much better and was SUPER smooth compared to mine on the skidpan. Mines a foot shorter, as his is a fairlane, but it felt the other way around, it was great to drive. I run Monroe GT's and dont have much good to say about them. Ive broken one, had both rears replaced under warranty, and are as hard as rocks.

Small bumps and corrugations are not so bad, just dips and mounds and stuff, I really get thrown up and down a bit. And Passengers whinge. Seems to handle pretty well, she'll take a lot of g's before the back breaks loose, much more than stock. Can't wait to see how she'll go when I get short shocks ![]() |

So would most here say BOGE shocks are the goods over say, pedders, KYB's or monroe's?
Im looking a ride quality as well as handling. I dont wish to have a 'bumpy' ride, but when the time comes for lowering, it needs to ride in a straight line nearly as good as it did stock, but handle well when entering and exiting corners. I plan to get SL's but if this will affect ride too much for rear passengers then I will end up getting just low's instead. I also plan to keep the stock rims for now, and will possibly just upgrade the rubber to better quality and possibly lower profile. I currently have 215/60/16's Dunlops which handle ok, but have been told next time I need new rubber to go for a 215/55/16 to improve handling. Any thoughts?

ride comfort REALLY depends on the roads your riding on..
if you hit alot of corragations in the road etc then superlows may not be for you but majority of the time they ride well and handle great and the boge shocks im VERY happy with

thanks blackers.
99% of the time, Im on bitumen roads. Condition of the roads are average, but mostly ok. I rarely take any car of road and if I know Im doing that, I'll take someone elses car instead. :P I think SL's with BOGE shocks sound like the go. Would you consider the BOGE shocks to be less stiff than KYB's? I only ask because my mate has an ef fairmont with stock ride height but with KYB's and his ride is much stiffer. It handles well still but I find the KYB's you feel every bump in the road. Which model BOGE shocks would you recommend?

ok, no worries mate. I might order them from the wholesale suspension place in sydney. They seem to have a huge range there. Perhaps they will help.

Without answering for blackers, I reckon thats not a bad price at all considering I was quoted $1000 for pedders + alignment. Is that with a AFF discount or not?
