Leaning towards the Honda Oddysey or a Tarago. Also wanna check out the Mazda for size.
I like the look of the Honda Oddysey best of all those (as I said in my previous post a family member has got a Mazda MPV family of seven 2 adults & five kids heaps comfey several different seating arrangements & the power & torque of a V6). There very happy with there they have had from new for approx 2 years now.

From personal experience, I would go for the Tarago. Last year, some folks from interstate came over to visit me and I had to rent it for 10 days. It was the only people mover available for rental that could take 8 people - 6 adults and 2 teenagers. It had good handling and fuel economy.

I wouldn't go past a landcruiser. Comfortable all the way through and plenty of space.

Discovery 3 is the most comfortable 7 seater i have ever driven so i would put that at the top of the list with the 2.7TDV6

Nissan Pathfinder might be a good cheaper alternative, but not as nice.

as for car-based 7 seaters, i quite like the Odyssey

Soft roaders, i like the Volvo XC90 and Honda MDX
