As a result, asking prices are dropping pretty quick.

Seems to me that tight financial times are encouraging those who have kept their xr8 as a weekender to sell.
At one point, my FGX was worth about $20,000 more than what I paid for it brand new in 2014. That was during the Covid years though. But yeah, prices have crashed, especially as more Sprint's come onto the market.

Pity that's not true in regards to SANDMAN panel vans I've been watching.
Still sky high.

Seeing a few mentions on how this could be the start of the decline of the boomer car market as they tap out and their children have no interest/time/financial ability and space to keep the car. Comments from the US but will also be relevant to here.
With a few exceptions US and Aus classic cars might become affordable again.
The days of $60k notch back Mustangs and $100k four door post tri 5s might be over.

Well, it’s not Gen Y or Z paying 7 figures for a GTHO or 3 million for a Gullwing Mercedes or $150k for a Belair sports coupe/nomad or $300k for an E Type.
Instead the ones in the market buy up not so desirable classics like a molested base model mustang/camaro or 66-67 Impala on tacky oversized chrome rims and some shit looking B&M shifter cut into the floor.
These cars should be circa $20k but instead are 2-3 times the price due to the unsustainable price boom of the last 15 years.

Gen X and Y will likely fuel prices of 1990s/2000s cars. Not to discriminate we might be able to call it the millennial car market in 10 - 15 years time.

Most of the $100 000 - $300 000 + cars I see running around here are young Muslin guys and Millies ripping around the city streets trying to impress everyone.

At least they are driving them and not cellophane wrapped in the centrally cooled garages.

Nevermind, you a I can stick to our knockabout $1500 sh*tboxes as dailies

Seeing some indications of Terrritory prices softening.

Maybe if work was a little closer, and not 40kms away.

JH Cruze, petrol. A worthless orphan or do they hold “utility value” as a working car with rego and cold AC?

Looking at one for a quick flip.

The famous re-badged Daewoo.

Everyone I know who has "previously" owned a Cruze in WA has never told a "good news" story. They have all experienced nothing but nightmares. Blown head gaskets, blown auto transmissions. A Scottish friend traded his VT Commodore in for a new Cruze. His only comment was "this 4 cylinder Eco-tec is not very economical". Next time I saw him he was driving a Nissan Maxima. Another friend had the 1.4 turbo where the turbo would not stop turboing - motor would not turn off until no oil in the sump and seized.

When I had a WN Caprice the service department gave me a Demo Cruze as a courtesy vehicle. It had 3.5 k km on it and driving it home it sounded like a demented sewing machine, checked the dip stick = no oil, put 3.5 litres in and still no reading, took it back to the dealer and asked for another car. When collecting the Caprice I asked what the story was with the Cruze. Service manager said "We're sending it back to Mr Holden, the motor is stuffed".
