Some of the post/reactions are either baiting or even more frightening an example of what i was talking about.
Live and let live, they both do skids..geez. What nimrod compares a $65k+RRP performance sedan to a cut price coupe @ ~$45k.

I didn't want any part of this thread as I new it was a bait from the get go.
But when some one starts claiming that the 4 pot stang is no quicker than a bog stock XR6 (obvious uniformed bait) and some started to swallow this as logic, I had to make a point about that and also advised the silent majority out there, they should form there own opinion and test drive one them selves if they are curious and not believe a minority and biased point of view. Obviously some have got there nose out of joint with this car and express this by claiming character association with those have interest or own these vehicles ![]() ![]() My reasons for purchasing one are for my own personal reasons, was never purchased with the intension of a high performer or boy racer I am too old for that, but hell if I had a job, even a hair dressers job ![]() ![]() On paper, the 4 pot Mustangs are more comparable performance wise with the b series turbos with their weight and power figures, by feel of the seat of the pants ride it also feels the same, maybe some people have more sensitive feel in their seat of their pants than others ![]() ![]() |

Nothing wrong with 4 cyl turbo but in light cars, focus Rs, golf r, wrx sti etc
But in a heavy mustang muscle car ?? It's a huge cup of wrong. |

And this is what the 4-pot Mustang defenders just don't get. Anyway, most people on this thread are just having a laugh so I think it's all good.

I don't know about anyone else but I would have a 4 cylinder Mustang any day over any AU.

Amazes me how many Richard Craniums there are in the Ford world, especially when comparing stablemates.
The Ecoboost serves a purpose and provides choice and options for buyers. |

I honestly don't get why people on the forum act like a car raped their dog if they don't like something about it.
I don't see any reason a 4 cylinder shouldn't be in a bigger car. They're a lot more powerful than they used to be. Hell, i'd give the ecoboost Falcon a go too. I may not like the EB Mustang if I drive one, and I may not like the GT either. I'd want to drive both before I ever purchase one. But I'm thinking the guy who actually owns one has a better idea about the car than the guy who drove one around the block. My gf's 1.4 turbo is about as quick as my NA Falcon, and there's things I enjoy about both cars, and things I don't like about both. Can't see the Mustang being any different either. I'm pretty sure the majority of people hating on them in here also haven't driven one, and it wouldn't matter if they did, because go into it thinking the worst already, you're only going to find negatives. |

It can't be that bad, it does circa 400nm torque at a pretty low RPM right?

This and several other threads are evidence of rubbish being posted by some only because the car isn't a Falcon.

I tried to lighten it up but... ![]() Anyway, I think you'll find that you guys are the ones who swung aboard this ship with swords in hands. The OP started a thread about his negative experience with a 4-pot Mustang and how it was (in his opinion wrong) and sought others opinions. Don't forget to get onto Twitter, Book-face, Pintrest, et al and tell everyone how "outraged" you are... ![]() |

The EB Mustang looks pretty tuff.
My Kelpie-x-Staffie Tonka looks pretty tuff too. He's also neutered. |

I would buy one. Wouldn't be too bad. Rip the eb out. Stick a Barra in, or maybe a Boss 290. Cars can always be improved. I am sure the Mericans have wound the boost up, changed the rotating assembly, and are actually running good numbers. Got to be better than a Camira, or Starfire Four Commo.

Do guys know that the ecoboost have an output of 233kw right?? some of you sound like you think its like a little buzz box with 150kw or something...
The Ecoboost mustang weights 1627kgs (Tare) 233kw @ 5700rpm / 432nm @ 3000rpm FG-X Falcon Xr6 NA weights 1703kgs (tare) 195kw @ 6000rpm / 391nm @ 3250rpm To say a NA Xr6 would beat one or anything like that is ridiculous... and would be more based on emotion then fact.. you love the falcon, that's great, we get it, but doesn't mean you need trash the Eco Mustang. blah blah blah.. 4 pot shouldn't be in a mustang.. but the 4pot has more power and torque then the 6.. it would have been stupid to bring the 6 here, as it would have been less powerful and less rewarding then the 4 pot. seriously guys.. its 2016.. not back in nam where a 4 pot was gutless.

Yes. That post was intended to be taken in a literal sense, rather than as a sarcastic jab at the fact that you do not have the basis to substantiate your claims about running a 13.1 - 13.3 quarter mile.
...but, I'm just a skater boy. She said seeya later boy. |

As I mentioned in another thread, the EB Mustang is great vehicle, and some ways is a modern day Nissan 200SX.
Having driven one, there can be doubting its speed, the engine is strong from idle to redline. What lets the EcoBoost down is the lack of character. The engine lacks that vital sound a performance car should have. It sounds like a Focus. Again, its a great package, but the lacks the WOW factory as a drive experience.

Someone better tell those engineers to pick up the remaining 4 pistons they left on the ground.
