Drove mums on Saturday and boy did i have a go or what, love the up and go it has, feels so nice to drive can't wait to get back in and have another go, rain sensing wipers nice touch too. If you ever drive the auto bang it into sports mode and just go for it you won't believe your in a mid size car.
Danny also got to drive the girlfriends Fiesta Zetec up Esk-Hampton road, so nice and sporty didn't go any slower than 80km/h and it still had more to go loved it, haven't gone that fast in the ute yet haha. |

Thanks for the update matey. Still haven't driven the diesel, but the petrol sounds perfect for me anyway.
Well I'm going with the GDi petrol engine, in Moondust Silver, Titanium spec with the Sports Executive Pack, as a hatch. Have decided to get the satellite navigation which Ford says will become available in November, but will order in the next few weeks. EXCITED!

Juat as a topic for discussion, when we bought the Fiesta, they had the German and the Thailand one in stock at the time. We chose the Genman one probably on the back of the reputed better build quality. To be honest I looked at both very carefully, you know tested how panels fit, doors closed, welding seams under the bonnet etc, and I really couldn't see any difference. There are some small conmetic differences between the two, the Thailand one has some subtle changes on the front end and the interior such as storage nets etc a few other small touches. The Ford guy which I do trust a lot said that there had been a lot of people expressing concern about the relevent build quality, but he said that while time will tell, Ford has put very stringent QC processes in place in Thailand, so they are cautionly optimistic.

This ones going to be hard for me to get used to after always having bigger cars. Lucky I have the Territory. Went to a few dealers & they all seemed eager to sell their 1st Titanium so I think it was a good time to deal? I always change the wheels & lower my vehicles & get told off for it so was surprised when the missus came straight & said " I need to get some decent wheels on it"? ![]() Bloody busy dash which is fairly distracting while driving I think. Might need to try it in the sport mode after reading some of the comments here.

Waiting for my Sports to be delivered. Should port on25/9/11.
Test drove the Powershift and I didn't like it. Ordered the manual model. I just want to know if Sony have a Subwoofer/amp that will plug straight into the sound system. |

I've just noticed that for 10 grand less the US Focus has 8" MyTouch, and a few other gizzmo's. I wonder if the Thailand built models will be up spec'd ? The UK focus has lane warning, driver fatigue and a host of toys that we are not getting too.

And most of the US models still use drum brakes on the rear.

I don't care what others country's have. I have test driven all but the titanium and because I don't care for park assist, powershift and heated seats I picked sports. My only wish was that the 5 spoke wheels were an option. Alas they were not so I will have to keep a lookout for a set.

Picked ours up yesty & gotta say I pleasantly surprised. Once I got used to a little less room & power after the SV6 it was quite nice to drive. Comfortable & although a little road noise on the highway not as bad as the Commodore. Still think there is a little bit much going on with all the buttons & dials but the wife likes it.

http://www.caradvice.com.au/137517/2...rt-motor-show/ Interesting to see the wagon variant is going to be available in the ST. Reminds me of the XR5 Mondeo a bit. Going to be a shame not having the 5 cylinder though :(

Is it likely the ST version of the ecoboost will be the eco engine to power the local falcon when it goes to 4 cylinders?

After much persuading and a little arm twisting of my parents my mum has finally put a deposit down on a frozen white Titanium diesel hatch with the sports pack, window tint, premium mats, boot scuff guard, chrome mirror scalps etc. Total cost, under $40k drive away - she's stoked and my old man is happy that he can fianlly get his FG back off her.

Gotta agree with most everything he say's about the Titanium.
He is spot on about the turning circle. For a small car the turning circle is very ordinary - actually disappointing.

Amazing that you can have adaptive cruise control and xenon healights together for only $2,300 and they're available on a vehicle of this relativly moderate cost. Direct injected petrol engine is good for combined ADR efficiency of only 6.6 litres per 100 km's, (not shown in the the article).
Looks like the car to beat in its segment. |

It is a nice car & I like most everything about it but even my wife commented about it the first couple of times she drove it. I would think my Territory has a better turning circle.

But really if you're put off a car because it has a slightly larger turning circle than another car of it's class you're just being too picky and looking for something to hate on, when in reality it's an amazing car!

![]() As the fella in the review say's "The only downside to the big wheels is a massive turning circle" nothing about hating the car.

I can't believe people care, let alone complain, let alone call it a deal broker about turning circle!!! FFS!!
I drive a big Falcon in tight in city car parks with no problem.. People need to learn how to drive if they think it is a problem!! |
