I HATE the ATO and the ABR and online applications and the internet in general!!!!! Been in the process of trying to start a small business, shouldn't be a problem, bought my vehicle to use, bought all my equipment to get underway, went online to register it all, reactivate my ABN, register for my AUSkey and register for GST and that's when it all went down hill... Tried to reactivate my ABN, went through the application process...website crashes. I'll give them a ring I thought, like in the good old days...nope, need to do it through the website, but in the meantime we'll book you a phone appointment so someone can help you through it... 3 days later phone rings, hi Mr Steve, unfortunately I cant help you, its got to be done online and our website is down, try again when we come back from holidays... Sunday night it works and my ABN is off and running, now for that GST registration, but first I'm told I need an AUSkey, no probs should be easy enough...nope. I know, i'll call the friendly people at Auskey and get them to help me... Hello, hi its Mr Steve and I cant install my AUSkey can you help please... Yes, but in the meantime i'll speak to you condescendingly and treat you as though you're an idiot because installing AUSkey software is so easy... 30 minutes later after trying every known way to man her tone changed and she politely tells me she just received an email notifying her that their system has crashed and AUSkey's cant be installed...FFS I'm so over this ****, it was so easy once upon a time and now some flog on a 6 figure salary has decided doing everything online is so much better, well FU...******! |

Yeah well at present I am hating everything!!
The world just needs more love. Do you know humans are the only species on the planet that watch time.? The animals don't know it is 10.12am or 6.17 pm. We are the only ones who measure life by time. Live in the moment! Life is far too bloody short to sweat the small ****!! Cheers Col Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

When a nice drive along the Great Ocean Road is spoiled by ****** **** ***** that can't do more than 35 ****** ******* kph around even the ****** ******* simplest of ****** corners!
I reckon I counted about 25 'slower car pull outs' between Anglesea and Apollo Bay and only saw 3 get used, not expecting anyone to speed along that road but is it too much to do the speed limit and if you can't, pull over so the people that can, can? It was that bad that I relinquished pilot duties just out of Lorne, took the missus about 10 minutes before she was over it too.. We came to the conclusion that the only people that see the 'slow car turn out' bays and the 'consider those following' signs are the people stuck behind.. |

Geez I hate.... the fact that after 8.5 trouble-free & damage-free iPhone years, and always having them look as good as new even after a couple of year's usage, I finally broke one by accident - shattered screen.
Making wood fired pizza tonight - getting up & down to "feed the oven" and it slipped out of my pocket onto the outdoor chair, and then I watched in horror as it slid down the chair & out the gap at the back of the chair - somehow one corner of the wrap-over cover had popped away, and that's the corner that hit the concrete first...... Even the tempered glass screen protector wasn't enough to save it - it fell on the perfect angle to hit the only exposed bit of Apple glass - right on the corner, sending cracks radiating over the whole screen in a fan shape..... Oh well, $50 and a couple of days wait for a new one. God knows I've had enough practice changing screens in other family member's phones.... and now it's my turn. |

When the Apprentice walks up to you when you're operating a machine and he "accidently" bumps the E-stop button and shuts down the whole thing, MID-CYCLE!!!. What an effort to get it going again, and allmost a full day in lost production. Should send him the bill for the sparky to come out to get us going again.

I get tired of people who teach L platers their own bad habits. Monavale road on the drive back home today. Pulled on going south at terry hills. Moved into the right lane to make my way past a couple of trucks that weren't really moving (their entitled, and in the slow lane, no issue there) only to come behind an L plater in the right lane doing 70 odd. By the time I got to them the trucks were moving past, and people were moving out from behind me to undertake in the left lane. It's 90 down that stretch so if you are limited to 80 and there is a perfectly good lane that flows, use it. I didn't have the go in the ute to be an undertaker because being loaded, it's been a slow day for the ute, but I did see a few people slow down whilst undertaking and hurl abuse. Once the car finally moved over I set the cruise and motored on. Couldn't set the cruise earlier as speeds were fluctuating. How did the "instructing" driver in the passengers seat not see the havoc created by putting a driver who was limited to under the speed of the giant signs for so long. There should be a compitency test to teach a learner driver. I managed somehow to sign off my wifes (girlfriend back then) log book when I was my greens. Probably lucky that we never got pulled over because I'm assuming there is a fine for that, but still, she knows how to drive, it's not that hard to be aware of your surroundings

Wasn't a burgundy Mazda 2 was it? I was coming down the F3 around 3.30 this arvo, with a group of several cars & hurtled up behind the fool in the far right lane (3 lane section) on L-plates, doing what I estimate to be 70km/h (had to slow to less than that to wait for cars in the middle lane to go past so I could get out).
Absolutely no idea of how dangerous they were, and when I honked on my way past, all I got from the "instructor" in the passenger seat was a shrug & "what" with an open mouth. For a good km more (that I could still see them in the rear view mirror) they continued to sit out there, with ample opportunities to move left, but never did. |

A few months ago I built a new PC for myself and really lashed out getting "premium parts". A few days ago I was just writing in a word document and it suddenly turns off without any warning. It won't reboot. So I go through the process of troubleshooting and it turns out the motherboard has just died for no reason.
It just HAD TO BE the motherboard. The one part that means I have to take EVERYTHING else out of the case to return it for warranty. :( All that time I spent on cable management was for nothing. |

This morning. Come time for breakfast both myself and my college were undecided on food choice. So we went for a short walk and both got tired of the usual places, the cheap joints you knew what you get, and the expensive ones are just that. We saw a new place on clarence st in town that had had a table of lift mechanics chowing down. That's a sign it must be good. The staff had scruffy long beards and top knots, all were dressed in st vinnies attire, interesting artwork. Looked genuine hipster. Having done a lot of work in Surry hills, I know the food choices may sound odd but usually aren't bad. Got the blt with avo ($3 extra, rediculous) but that was my treat as pay day was yesterday. My college made the same choice. It was not a bad food choice. On the drive to the next site, thinking about food, I called my college and asked what the t in blt stands for, the reply was tomato. His had none either. Geez I hate getting fleeced even if it's trivial

I forgot to mention they had early 90's gangsta rap playing, I should have been sus with that. Some John Butler or similar would be more convincing for the rest of the hipster theme

Hijack.
I so don't get these so called 'specs' for the computers.. Ive bought 4 new laptops and each time i buy a new one i always try to get better than what i had. (Faster processor, more ram etc etc). I show the sales guy exactly what i had and what i do. Everytime its "This laptop will be almost twice as fast blah blah blah" And i get stung everytime. I swear my original laptop was just as fast as my latest fang dangle wizz popper. And that cost me $700. The new laptop close to $2k... For browsing the net i expect the page to just pop open. Not take 10-15 seconds. Why the hell does it still sit buffering on a 15min youtube clip? Old laptop had dismal ram etc and old ****** dongle sim internet. New laptop has about 4times the ram etc and fastest nbn i could get. All the sales people can say is. Each computer works differently. ... That be like ford telling me why a new car (mustang/xr8 whatever?) Performs worse than a feista...... if something is better on the paper they are using to entice a buy then it should bloody work like that. Did a back to back test of old vs new. Old laptop actually opens some pages faster than new. Its also ready to use quicker to. My next laptop is going to be a sub $300 cheapie i think. |

Ok, I'm going to hand out some amazing advice.
Quote:
Then I would put a 120GB SSD in it as the primary drive. In the end that would come under $1000 and would be a great laptop - fast, relatively good battery life and absolutely bulletproof hardware. It simply would not die. It would be the Rocky Balboa of laptops. Hell, it would even be capable of playing some fairly decent games too if you ever decided you wanted to. Although obviously not suited for gaming, it would be able to play GTAV at 720p. Quote:
Still there are ways you can get maximum bang for buck. I have one idea that could help speed up your laptop. It will at least stop you from wasting $300 on a really crap laptop that you will hate at any rate. Does your current laptop have a hard disk drive or a solid disk drive as the primary drive? If you're using a HDD, I strongly (STRONGLY) recommend that you upgrade to an SSD. You will never, ever want to use a computer with a HDD once you have experienced an SSD. Adding an SSD to an old PC will make it seem so much quicker for general use. Look up what they are or maybe even watch the first few minutes of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLS6RrLnQOc You can get a cheap Sandisk or Kingston 120GB SSD for about $65 on ebay and use your existing HDD as a secondary drive (most laptops have provisions for at least two 2.5" drives). I would recommend spending a bit more and getting a larger capacity (240GB) drive if you use a lot of different programs frequently and will actually use that space. On the topic of videos loading slowly. This could be many things. Sometimes videos just won't load because computers are really logical but extremely stupid and I found this plug-in for firefox that is essentially the best thing that ever existed: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...eo-everywhere/ ^ This will force the video to play in HTML5 - basically it will just make the video work when nothing else will and it's really simple to use as well. If that doesn't work, the issue probably is not with your PC or your internet connection but the server the video is located on. Quite often the servers become over-saturated and can't provide data for all of the clients which are trying to access them. This happens to me all the time on popular sites youtube even though I have the most expensive internet I can possibly get where I live and I have enthusiast-grade computers. Finally there is also the possibility that the videos you're trying to load are just in a higher definition than you were previously accessing and therefore there is a lot more data to download than before. For example, going up from 720p to 1080p means you will need to download a lot more data because 1080p has more than twice as many pixels. 1280x720 = 921,600 pixels and 1920x1080 = 2,071,600 pixels. I used to work in tech support and I guess it stuck with me because I still occasionally enjoy helping people with their tech problems... even though working one minute in tech support will strip you of your soul and make you hate the entire human race for the rest of your life. All the best. |

Yeah the new laptop i got is i7 core with 10gb ram and has a solid state drive i think its 240 or 250gb? And has a dedicated graphics card apparantly. Plus a few other things.
Its definitely no quicker than my old one. Which i think is i5 and 4gb ram, 1tb hard drive. (Not solid state) I dont do anything crazy with it. Check emails surf net, youtube etc. Ive found using my phone now to be just as easy /quick so i don't use the laptop as much now as i rend to get p#ssed off with it. |

It depends what you even mean by "faster" and which tasks you're trying to accomplish. I find it extremely hard to believe that you don't get a better experience in general use with the newer system with SSD than you did with the older system.
If that is that case you must have a "virus" or a lot of bloatware installed. |
