Hi all,
I'm new to this site, Traditionally a Honda boy, with my integra and prelude. i guess I've done some growing up. i have now ordered a new Focus TDCi and have a couple of questions about it. The one i took for a test drive didn't have traction control, I've ordered the safety pack. are you able to turn off the traction control? I am a bit disappointed that the stereo is not mp3 compatible, and there is no option for this (unless you get the XR5). i'm getting blue tooth which sort of solves the problem. so i guess i'm just having a winge. also, I've been told that a sunroof is unavailable because i am getting the curtain air bags and this would weaken the roof structure if they were to go off. has anyone else heard of this? |

Yes you can turn the traction control off.
The stereo has an iPod socket in the glove box so that's just as good. I don't think you can get a sunroof on a Focus, if you can I'm unaware of it. You'll love the car, it's a beast

yep everything turbodiesel said. i too was unaware that there was a factory sunroof option...
if you ordered the safety pack you will see a button next to the rear dimister button. you will have to hold this button in in order to turn it off. some sort of safety feature just incase it accidently gets knocked and turns off. once off, the screen in the dash will say ESP off and the traction control light will come on. keep your foot light on the throttle and you will see about 5.6l/100 around town....its great!!! |

I found out from the dealer when I recieved my car that the P is a European thing. Something about keeping lights on at night so that people didn't crash into a parked car or something like that. You'd never use it.
One thing you may want to remember with the focus lights and its something that been bugging me whenever I see drivers with their fog lights on, is that there are two settings for the fog lights. I click for the front and the second click puts on the back. It's sooo frustrating to see so many people with their rear ones on (not that its not annoying to see people drive with the front ones on when its not necessary either, but you learn to live with that..hehe) You will love the car. Mine's clicked over 52,000kms and is as smooth to drive as when I first brought it, and the traction control is very handy in a real tight spot, why you would want to turn it off though is a bit of a mystery to me |
