Just wondering if anybody has set up a sporting event at all and can help out with some hints and tips!!??
I work in an organisation that has offices in different suburbs and would like to organising a day event that may turn into a regular event if its successful. Im hoping to have a day where each different office can compete against each other in a sport - Maybe mixed netball or soccer? Just wondering if anybody has done this in the past? Bonding as well as excercise... Most importantly bragging rights to the winners!! Anything would be appreciated!! |

How about tenpin bowling or go karting? With those sports people can socialize as well as compete?

What type of sporting facilities do you have in the area you are in????
I have organised many sporting days from kids regular weekend sport to other more adult oriented things. Maybe if you can give us more of an idea where you are we can offer more support ;) Netball is an excellent choice as most blokes dont play it or know how too ........ it gives the girls a bit of a chance against most blokes ;) If you need rules let me know ..... have coached this for years ;) |

XRCISM - Thanks for your reply... GO KARTING would be a hit with the younger guys... I just wonder about the costs associated. Bowling could be a winner tho, that never crossed my mind... Let you know how we go! MOTHER NATURE - Thanku for your reply also. Sporting facilities are endless. There are basketball and netball courts (indoor and outdoor), ovals, tennis courts... Everything really... Its just a matter of booking them, which shouldnt be too much of a hassle! Not that Id like to admit it, but Ive played a cpl games of mixed netball here and there, so I know how much fun it can be (when you win - haha), but as a game for everybody, I can see what your saying about the girls having the advantage... etc... and is probably the way Id like to go... 7 on a court... Could have each suburb against each other in a round robin type playoff and have the company put some small prizes together for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last... Not to mention lunch and refreshements throughout the day... |

Maybe turn it into a charity event to raise money for the local Salvos or St John Ambulance or something?
