Default Throttle body turnaround

Hey all.

I'm just wondering if anyone has turned the throttle body around on an i6 bbm engine so that it faces the wheel arch.
Obviously some cutting, welding and messing around would be needed but i heard that it had been done.

Are there any advantages to it?
Obviously torque will go down, but throttle response would increase, and there would be less heat sink into the piping cause is not near the engine as much so one would think power would go up (even though it's not everything).

So anyone got some thoughts on this cause it's been on my mind for a while

Cheers

I rememeber seeing somewhere the top of the BBM can be unbolted ... and turned around .... not sure what it was on .... might have been on a B-series XR6T though.

In doing so it turned the entire throttle body around .... although this makes it easier for the B-series as there's no throttle cable (fly by wire) ... unlike the AUs ... so getting that to work in regards to opening the throttle butterfly is going to be different.

there was ONE AU ive seen where they chopped the Throttlebody out and spun it
it reduced intake temps and increased throttle response
they just rigged up a modified cable etc
i dont know who did it but yeah its been done and was good

FUZZMOBILE has done something like that on his AU Turbo. Looks in the project cars section.
