MY v8 el ghia pings if i run unleaded it loves preminum not shore what the timings is set at but if i put unleaded in it i carnt rev it over 3 grand or it pings its head of...

Advancing it 4-6 deg, will do it much good but only problem it advances the time 4-6 degrees over your whole timing map some engines might get away with it depending on the condition and fuel used. I'm running mine at around 20' at idle but i'm using a Haltech tuned on a dyno and didn't show any signs of pinging at all.
