?????????? I thought only the Barra was going!
Ford will always be more Australian than Holden no doubt about that! Commodores will be built in Korea long before the Falcon is unaustralian. |

Who really cares to be honest. No one will care where it will be built, those days are over. Honestly Ford is a business and all they care about is the $$ made, so if it is saving the $$ to import the engines then thats it. Eventually manufacturing in this country will disappear, we have priced ourselves out of work.

Like everything, the general public won't care. They want a vehicle to get from A to B. As I have said, explains why Toyotas sell so well. Boring cars, but reliable.
If Ford benefits, then that's life. I'd rather see the Falcon live on as a RWD than stick with the I6 and see it die. |

What a load of bollocks it will still be designed, tested & built here the same as it is now but with an imported engine, did the ZF 6 speed auto suddenly make them a German car?
I'd rather have a majority Australian Falcon using imported parts then no Falcon or local car at all & it's much better then merely assembling an overseas model like Toyota do. The Commodore is better car with the imported V8 then it was with the local one & the Falcon gearbox is better then the locally made one & I have no doubt this will be a better engine then what we have now too. |

Australia has always been priced out of the market. Its only been through government protection that Australia has maintained local manufacture. Do you honestley think any Australian industry can compete with both larger economies and countries with no minimum wage. Our great leader has alowed the sale of most of Australia's major teritary and secondary industries. When the mining boom is over the average Aussie will be camping by a billabong praying for a stray jumbuck to pass by.

Personally, how 'Australian' a car is isn't as important to me as how good it is. Plus, the term 'UnAustralian' reminds me too much of tabloid 'current affairs' shows.

You being a whinger is Un Australian.. Go back to watching the sensationalism of such phrases that occurs on ACA/TT.
This is something that no one really gives a about.. It's still designed/assembled/tested in Australia 99% of people would think the Holden is more australian because Holden is an Australian company... right... right? |
